@bobklahn

Hi

. . . . It appears to not be accepting registry . . . .

Assuming you mean it will not accept or register/activate with the serial number.

AFAICS, programs released before 2010 ie those with a serial number beginning with P- , are not capable of being registered, ie they are considered obsolete.

If the serial number begins with P2- then it may be able to be registered in which case copy and paste the whole serial number, including, the P2- prefix into the registration dialog.

So, that must mean Magix doesn't care if we hack it?

@bobklahn

Hi

Hacking is still illegal even though the software is old and obsolete.

Why go to such lengths when there is free software that does the same job.

I hate to see something really good go away. That's why I want to keep using it. Long ago some companies took programs they were no longer going to suppor, and release them as "Banner Ware", just give it away for the publicity value.

I know how to use Web Radio Recorder, have been using it since the early days of WWR 2. It still works, but I keep an old Windows XP computer running and the only thing I do with it is record radio stations I like. I also have an old program I used long ago, very small and simple. You have to feed in all the data yourself. I would set it to start about 5 minutes before the program I want, it will have a start and stop time I give it, and a location and name to save it under. I can go back to that, there are only two programs I record every week, both Celtic radio. My name is German but my mother's side is Irish.

I will, however, look into some of the programs on the site you gave me, and consider the options. And no, I was not planning on hacking. I'm too old for that, and was always more a hardware than software person.

Hi Bob

Thanks for the update.

I understand how giving up an old trusted favourite can be a bit of a pain when having to change.
