Wavefolrm output device "none" cannot play this format

I am using the 7 day trial version of Molvie Edit Pro 16 Plus.   I downloaded it yesterday, made a edit, trims, etc. and it played and worked beautifully and uploaded to youtube fine.  I saved the project in the only format it would allow - .mvp.   This morning I launched the program, opened the project and it wouldn't play.

I got this message:  Wave from output device 'none' cannot play this format!  Reason: a device ID has been used that is our of range for your system.

I looked at the answer to one post about this.  It said try pressing P on my keyboard while in the edit screen and change from Wave to Direct Sound, etc.  I tried that.  And when I choose different options and then clicked ok, I got another error message and the program froze and crashed.

I'm a former professional videotape editor and know very well how to edit, but have no clue how to get around computer problems.

In the last month I have tried free trials of about 6 or 7 video editing programs and the only other one that gives me the flexibility I need with multiple video and audio channels besides Magix is Nero, and it won't play my .mov file and crashes a lot.

I really want this program to work for me NOW, so I can determine whether or not to plunk money down to buy the full version.  If the trial won't work I won't gamble my hard earned savings on the full version.

My computer system:

Windows Vista Home Premium with Service Pack 2

32 Bit Bit Operating System

Compaq manufacturered by Helwett Packard

Processor: AMD Athlom dual Core Processor 4450e 2.30Ghz

Ram: 3GB

Hard Drive: 250Gb

Audio: Realtek High Definition Audio  (I did have Windows search automatically for an update and it told me my driver was up to date - same thing with video driver).

The files I am editing are .mov files from my Kodaz Zi8 1080p HD camcorder.

Help!

Sounds as if the program is not able to communicate with that sound device. It could be other software that is installed is using the drivers for the sound device or Windows is not reporting to the Movie Edit Pro that there is a sound device. This is not a program issue, its your system and something either installed on it or its overall configuration... do you have more than one device that "could" be seen as a audio device, other audio hardware.

What I recommend is:

Open the Movie Edit Pro and press Y on the keyboard. This will open a dialog that you can make a selection through tabs.. Choose the Systems tab, then look in there for the Audio Playback Output Device, and use the drop down to see if your Reaktek is located there, or anything for that matter.

Realtek is not a sound card though, this is a integrated sound chip and may not meet the minimal system requirements of the Movie Edit Pro.

You should start there, the other thing I recommend since you admitted to installing free trials of 6 or 7 other video editors is get your registry cleaned, If you have these other trials still installed, remove them, then make sure your registry for Windows is not damaged by these things. There are free registry cleaners offered by Microsoft from their website... not the best but enough to do the job. If you have a full system application from the big antiviral companies, you might already have a registry cleaner with them.. Try that, and don't forget to defrag occasionally.

Other then that, your system should be fine. I also have a integrated chip, and mine is fine for the audio playback, but it lacks features I need so I picked up a cheap USB device to use.

Hope this helps some.
