You're thinking of Draw Wave Mode. This isn't it. This is Editing Wave. To get there, right-click on an audio object, Edit, Wave editing and it opens the wave in a new window with its own tools. It shows the wave file, including any takes. In SMS2015, there is an X in the upper right of the window, not at the very top for the program, but just below it. In phalke's screen shot for SMS2016, I don't see this, so I don't know how he would get back to the VIP. In Samplitude Pro X2, the Wave editing shows up as a tab, so one has to simply close the tab.
Here are the screen shots of 2015:
Do you have SMS2016?
@phalke,
You'll have to search through the manual for the Wave editing and see if they say how to close it to get back to the VIP. Please let us know what you find.
@ John CB- thanks for the clarification - there appears to be 2 Wave editing modes - I had SMS 2013 installed.
. . . . in Samplitude Pro X2, the Wave editing shows up as a tab, so one has to simply close the tab. . . .
It is the same in SMS 2016
@phalke2001 - the image you have posted is incomplete - the left side is missing - the wave editor appears as another tab as shown below - the tab X is used to close the window as John Cb has indicated.
However be aware that closing the tab and selecting Save project it will change your source file if you did not use a copy of the audio file ie select the Copy it to the project folder option when importing the audio file to the timeline.
More information is in the PDF manual on Wave editting
