VST Presets missing from all plugins

When I upgraded to Acid Next, the VST preset issue was fixed, but all of the VST instruments stopped loading. I've been working with support, and they gave me an install for Acid Pro 8... which I installed and now things are working again. They said an upgrade to Acid Pro 9 is in beta right now that repairs all the VST problems. So My plan is to stay on Acid Pro 8 until that update comes out, then try the upgrade to 9.

I'm still using AP8 and things are not working. No way in hell I am paying to upgrade when AP8 is still broken.

Hello? Anyone from Magix want to address this? I have tried the work around and it did not work. I want to save a preset on one of my effects but it won't let me do it. It has been months now and there has been no news on a fix.

@Matt-Francis Are you still having this issue? I just installed the AP9 demo today, and I'm not missing any presets.

On another note, aren't the screenshots in the OPs post DirectX effects, not VSTs?

Yes, I am. I'm using AP8. You are right, the problem is with DirectX effects. I think people just use the term VST when talking about any plug in even if it's not the right term.

I also have a ton of presets as well as saved ones I use and it has really REALLY screwed with my ability to use Acid AT ALL. They worked perfectly fine in Acid Pro 7 and I am regretting uninstalling that now that I have upgraded to 8. This is a major major problem.

Thanks, that's what I figured. It makes it harder to troubleshoot issues or replicate if we're not all on the same page.

Anyway, I'm still confused... Is this then just an issue for people who were using AP7 and the DX presets got wiped or didn't migrate? I have AP8 and I have the AP9 trial, and all of my default presets are showing up. I haven't had AP7 installed on a computer in maybe a decade.

I am new to AP8, never installed AP7 before and the presets are not showing for me, and saving presets is not too good either, take for instance Vandal, the amp and cabinet setting is not saved and the preset list does show after saving the preset but their is nothing in it except a list of -. I think Magix really need to fix this issue as it is making this DAW very hard to use in a professional manor.

I also notice that when saving the project the amp and cabinet setting is also not saved. 😞

We are very sorry that the presets are currently unusable. The development team works on it.

Hi, are you still working on this or were you unable to fix it?

Hi, are you still working on this or were you unable to fix it? (Missing DirectX Plugins)

That should be solved with the public beta versions from October 2019 (both available for AP8 8.0.10.15 and AP9, AP Next x.0.3.29)

Ive only had ACID PRO NEXT for 1 week, I want a refund. I am experiencing Every issue that has been mentioned on these forums. This product was not ready for prime time. None of the vst's load, no media manager, etc etc.... I did a clean install of ACID PRO NEXT on a new workstation. Thankfully I still have acid pro 7 on my old workstation.

i am having the same issue now, and i use this program for major income. I just recently updated my acid pro 9 literally today and now allot of my vsts are broken....This is no good...i never had this much trouble with 8. Is there a patch anywhere yet?

Frank_Fader wrote on 12/5/2019, 7:57 AM

Hi NickB,

do VST plugins fail to scan, or are there presets missing? Which ACID version do you use?

If plugins fail to scan, It may help if you scan each technology alone: for example at first the VST2_64 Bit folder, then VST2_32 (if required), then VST3 64 Bit folder. There is an issue when scanning several VST technologies at once, which has already been fixed with the current 8.0.10.20 patch, but is still present in 9.0.3.30. We plan to offer this fix with a further soon coming AP9/Next patch.

BTW that patch will also include the fix for loading VSTi parameters in projects correctly that were saved by older AP8 version (AP9 can already load correctly projects saved with the current AP8).

@Frank_Fader. Did you receive my message about melodyne?

Thank you Ron

YaBoyAT wrote on 4/19/2020, 11:55 AM

I just purchased ACID Pro Suite. I've been using ACID since ph1! I'm hoping someone can help me resolve my issue of Melodyne options being grayed out inside Acid. I've installed Melodyne, activated it, added every folder to the VST list that may have needed Melodyne information, and still nothing. Your help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Good luck - I have the same issue. There has got to be a better way...
