VST plug-in issues

McMook wrote on 5/18/2016, 12:58 PM

I use Magix MM 2014 premium and haven't upgraded as I'm comfortable with the programme. However, after migrating the programme to Windows 10 recently, I appear to have lost the VST plug-ins that I had previously downloaded (those that were compatible with Magix, such as TAL instruments). I couldn't locate any plug-ins in any relevant folders nor anywhere on (C). I downloaded the VST plug-ins again (those I could remember) but am now unable to load any of them into Magix MM. I have uninstalled and re-installed (twice) both Magix MM and the plug-ins, have painstakingly checked my registry, have created VST paths via the programme and reset them. I've even gone so far as to try (ludicrously) a drag-and-drop. I've followed, implicitly, the instruction provided by Magix and those of the publisher (VSTs) and nothing works. Does anyone have any suggestions that don't relate to what I've already tried?

Hi

Try re-installing Music Maker using this procedure, update online, install the extras and then add in the VST files.

Hi Johnebaker

Thanks for the input. I gave your solution a try but to no avail. I had no problem re-downloading the VST add-ons via the programme interface, and they load without issue. I just cannot solve the problem of loading/using (compatible) VSTs downloaded from other publishers.

Hi

. . . . I just cannot solve the problem of loading/using (compatible) VSTs downloaded from other publishers. . . . .

Can you give examples of those VST's which will not load ?

Thanks

I have SF 12 and cannot get the VST to load. The only thing that shows up on plug-ins is the 7 Elements.  How do I get the VST Plug ins to work with SF 12?

Dschulman wrote on 9/14/2017, 8:20 PM

When I try to load the VST, all I get is this screen and when I try to load the files, it says nothing is there

Super Frustrating, can someone help; Magix was not too helpful

@Dschulman

Since this thread is specifically about MusicMaker 2014, can I suggest you begin a new thread because your question refers to SoundForge 12? That way you may well receive replies that are more directly relevant to your problem.
