VPX15 Potential Bug with Project Temp Folder Takes

VPX15 v. 21.0.1.198

Possible bug with Project Temp Folder (PTF) and takes.

Put a video clip of at least 5s on the timeline. Test both methods below. By take, I mean putting an object that is already on the timeline into the PTF. It will take on its name with _001 appended.

1. Right click, Insert objects in project folder. In the PTF, select this object (..._001) and try playing it back in the Source Monitor using the play button or the brackets and then play in the Source Monitor. It will play back only 1 second. Try dragging the playback marker - can you go past 1 second? I cannot. Use the right arrow button to go to the end of the clip. I cannot. Now send that object from the PTF to the timeline using the normal import button that shows up beside the object in the PTF. I get a 1 second object on the timeline.

2. Alternatively, drag the object into the PTF. It will now be removed from the timeline and show up in the PTF with ...001. Do the same thing. Now send that object from the PTF to the timeline using the normal import button that shows up beside the object in the PTF. I get a 1 second object on the timeline.

Normally, one could get the entire clip to play back.

Note, this does not affect objects that were added to the timeline or the PTF by importing from the Media Pool.

Hi John

Confirmed, also get the same result if you set a range, select and or insert multiple objects to PTF, they are all 1 sec long.

Hi John,

I just tried to raise a ticket and after clicking on Submit Support Request, it did not confirm but took me to a page to go back to the forum. I didn't receive an email confirmation of the ticket either.

I'll wait a bit and try again. Have to go out and finish shovelling the wet snow that we got overnight and this am. The machine had a hard time throwing the snow and slush.
