Can anyone confirm that any setting made in the audio mixer mastering effects that settings are not being retained when a project is re-opened please?
All settings are off on re-opening a project.

Hi Ray,
Not quite. Mastering is still on upon restarting VPX14, but if I open it, the settings are turned off.
With Mastering on, click on FX above it in the Master strip and Mastering will turn off.
Those are the bugs that I see.
Of course, it's difficult to know what is still on under Mastering without clicking on it and clicking on it turns off whatever was on.
I suggest that you check this out and raise a ticket. It's annoying to have the limiter turned off when it was on.

Hi John.
You have described it better than I have as that is what is happening but any effect selected in that section is off when the project is re-opened, not just the limiter even though the 'activity' button shows blue, which is why I described it as off.

Does anyone know if this happens in MS 2023 as well? It works fine in MEP 2022.

Yes, the bug is in MS2023 second latest version 22.0.3.165.
I just noticed that to go along with it, add some FX in the Master strip, then click on the Mastering button. The FX button is turned off. The same occurs in both MS2023 and VPX14.

That is correct however this must be done using Xara Designer Pro or Adobe Photoshop.
If you are interested in doing this there is more information in the manual under Edit Dvd Menus with Xara Designer Pro X or Adobe Photoshop - pp 222 onwards
I tried it a while ago with Paintshop Pro Ultimate, which supports named layer Adobe format files, however VPX rejected the returned images.

That sounds like it needs its own manual.
I will have a look at the VPX 14 manual and see what it says, if anything.
I do sometimes find it odd what Magix decides to add or take away. I miss the ability in VPX to decide the quality of proxy files. I have just doubled the amount of ram in my system to 64GBs and found I can max that out as well.
The additional ram has sped up the use of some OFX effects that need to render their output.
Frankly I was shocked at the improvement. I have hummed and ahhed about whether extra ram would do anything as I already had 32GB and thought my main problem with some of my speed issues were to do with the limited speed of the ram using an i9 over an i7 which would have allowed my motherboard to clock my current ram to its 3200MHz clock speed rather than the limit of the i9 at 2666MHz which I have now also recently found out also decreases the more sticks of ram you use. Even with identical ram modules. I could try overclocking as it is an option on my motherboard but it could increase instability of the system and put more stress on the CPU.
System building for video editing is more complex than I thought.
I have also recently found out there is currently no system performance gain to be had by switching to Window 11 after PC world did some extensive testing.
There was a performance gain to be had at first when Win 11 came out but more recent updates to Win 10 has apparently leveled that playing field out. Whether that is true with Magix products or not after their own publicity excels the virtues of close collaboration with Intel and Microsoft I don't know.
