jeffjn, when VPX5 was released I, although a UK customer having owned/run every version of VPX since it was first released, didn't receive any notification about it!  I had to contact MAGIX Sales to ask!  So, who knows whether notification about VPX6 will be sent?!!

However, I see from the US site that VPX6 is 64 bit only.  I know I really need to bite the bullet and upgrade my OS but, with a very stable 32 bit Win 7 and everything running as I need, I'm rather reluctant!

Hi,

In Canada, and not a VPX5 user but a MEP2014Plus user, I received an offer to switch to X6 for 199$ until Feb. 21. Below is the offer. Since I noticed that many of you are running both MEP and X5, I would like to know if you think it is worth the money to take advantage of this offer for me to switch to X6 from MEP. I have gone through the manual and I see a few things, like the 2 preview screens, multi-track DVD audio for different languages and audio outputs, and more multi-cam tracks (9 vs 2 - I probably won't even use multi-cam very often), but beyond that, I cannot see much advantage to switch. What are your thoughts on this? Are there things that make editing so much better to justify the expense? And if so, what?

Secondly, for those who already have X5, what are your thoughts about the value of the new version vs the old one and the additional "new" features (most look old to me)?

Thanks,

This offer includes proDAD Heroglyph 4 LE + Sound Archive 8 + Music Maker Soundtrack Edition
For anyone who already owns a MAGIX video editing program.

Highlights of the new version:

Amazing 64-bit performance
Movie objects (Nested sequences)
Expanded 4K support
Precision measuring instruments for perfect images
New and improved audio and video effects
Improved ssability for faster results
Additional programs proDAD Mercalli V2  & Red Giant Magic Bullet Quick Looks 1.4 (both 64-bit versions)
50 additional new features

Hi johnebaker, somehow the email from magix sales team about the upgrade offer for VPX 5 to VPX6 does not reach me, although I have been in touch with them and they had promised me that by the 21st of Feb.

I wrote back to them to update their email mailing list to include me but till this date there has been no email with the above mentioned upgrade offer.
