When I use the on screen keys to play notes i do not hear anything, like monitor is turned off. I can record what I play and I can hear that when I play it back. I am using windows 10, the latest download from the website. I originally used the windows version located in the microsoft store. I uninstalled it and got the version from the website (version 29.0.6.35) and since then the sound issue has arisen..these are screen shots of my audio settings:

@zelozelos Hello! Monitoring only works with ASIO. This are my settings. They work fine for me. I have a laptop and then I activated my Realtek audio chip and its inputs and outputs in the advanced settings.

@SP. Thank you for the info. I selected that driver and made sure the correct output device was selected in advanced. It did not fix the issue. My sound setup is a little confusing. I have dolby built in with dolby profile manager, but my speakers and jack have worn out. I now use a external usb sound card, which has audio in, 2 usb ports and 2 audio outs. Its a generic brand i got from amazon for 10$. I am unsure if any of that has to do with the issue but might be worth a mention. OH and i didnt say it, but the windows 10 version from the store did work perfectly. I am going to reinstall it and see what happens.

The windows version from the store works good. There are only a few differences but ...idk..whatever ill just use that one. this issue is not fixed for me, i do not consider a work-a-round a fix. but a work-a-round that works is ok by me ...uninstalling the regular version ...have a good one

@zelozelos Yes, there could be a problem with your "complicated" audio setup.

That's odd that the Windows store version works fine. But thanks for the information.

Hi

. . . . .  I now use a external usb sound card, which has audio in, 2 usb ports and 2 audio outs . . . .

I assume that from the image you posted above you cannot set the USB device as the audio output.

Can you set is as the default playback device in Windows?

Do you have both 32 and 64 bit drivers installed for the USB device or are you relying on what Windows installed -

I would suspect that for the price you paid, there are no manufacturer drivers available and it does not support ASIO in which case you need to move up to a device that does support ASIO.

@johnbaker

yes I can select and set the usb device as the default and output for Music Maker. However I believe you are on the right track too with the driver. There are no drivers so its just using whatever windows decided was best. Not sure how the windows version is different but after I reinstalled it it was good to go using the same settings.
