Video Stabilisation in MEP2015

Scenestealer wrote on 10/21/2015, 5:50 PM

Hi

Has anyone noticed the line in the Effects keyframer "Video Stabilisation Rotation" that appears after applying the MEP2015 inbuilt stabiliser to a clip? This is unticked so not active so I wonder that this may be a future feature of the stabiliser that will apply Z Axis Roll correction that has not yet been implemented.

If you tick this line the additional Size Position lines appear in the KFramer but these are also unticked and inactive.

Can someone check that this has maybe been implemented in 2016?

This feature would be a long absent very welcome addition because the stabiliser in the recent versions has been tweaked to the point that it works very well and is blindingly fast.

Thanks

Peter

Hi Peter

. . . . Video Stabilisation Rotation . . . . is unticked so not active . . . .

It is the same in MEP 2016, however the Premium version comes with Mercalli v2 which does include rotational stabilisation.

There is also a trial version of Mercalli v4 with MEP 2016 and I can only describe it as amazing - it coped with some really bad video - taken in a cable car which was swinging in the wind - and smoothed it out enough not to get sea sick.

Hi John

Thanks for checking. Thats odd that you have Mercalli V2 with 2016 as the website says 2016 Premium comes with V4?

I am familiar with V2 and it has saved my bacon many times but the 64bit MEP2015 version stabiliser is working faster than my 32bit V2,  and in some situations the MEP one works where V2 struggles.
