I'm wondering what the difference is between the two formats? Why would I want one over the other? I'm wanting to make YouTube content if that matters. Thanks!
Personally, I just export to an MP4 file using one of the resolutions available in one of the dropdowns on the export dialogue box.
I also like to use an external video convector to recode any videos so that they are the same resolution is my project. It also helps to convert any variable bitrate videos to constant bitrate. That will decrease the time it takes for the export.
Once you get your settings that work for you, you might want to wave it as an export preset.
I suspect you are asking about the differences between Movie Edit Pro and Video Pro X. Is that correct? If so, you need to study the features offered in each. Details for MEP and its variants can be found here, and for VPX here, where it is directly compared with MEP Premium.
Hi Logan and welcome to the Magix user to user forums.
'Video' and 'Movie' are interchangeable terms. Video is more common a term for Europeans and Movie is more common for Americans. The origin of Movie comes from 'Going to the Movies' as in 'motion picture' referring to analog physical film whereas Video is more from using Video Tape but still analog. The term Movie seemed to stick more with Americans wheres once we had VHS recorders Europeans referred more to 'Putting a video on'. So Video Editing is a more common term for Europeans to use. Americans still seem to connect video and film editing as the same thing.
Digitally speaking both have the same meaning and often you see both terms are used on forums depending on the person replying and where they live.
Video Pro X and Movie Edit Pro both do the same things, just one is more advanced in feature sets.
Video Pro X is the more advanced, and more expensive, option but, if you wish to have the greater number of editing etc., features available to you it is the one you should choose! Do have a look at the second link I gave you earlier, where the two programs are compared.
