Video Pro X keeps crashing during Mpeg-4 export.

I am using Video Pro X version 19.0.1.123 on this system:

Device name    LAPTOP-A5J4GS7S
Processor    Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-10300H CPU @ 2.50GHz   2.50 GHz
Installed RAM    16.0 GB (15.8 GB usable)
IDs removed by Moderator
System type    64-bit operating system, x64-based processor
Pen and touch    No pen or touch input is available for this display

Since the 19th of October, I have had a consistent problem where almost everytime I try to export a movie as an MPEG-4 file, the project will get to 99% complete, then Video Pro X will suddenly restart before exporting and the movie will not correctly export.

It exports as avi without issue, but MPEG-4 keeps causing a crash.

I have only had this issue recently and I have tried resseting the export settings to default to no result.

Hi

. . . . Since the 19th of October, I have had a consistent problem where almost everytime I try to export a movie as an MPEG-4 . . . .

Is the OS Windows 10 or 11, was there an update(s) installed on the 18/19th Oct?

Does the computer have a second graphics card in it, and are the graphics drivers up to date?

For the Intel iGPU the latest driver version is 31.0.101.3790 / 31.0.101.2114 depending on the Windows version.

@johnebaker Thank you for your reply. I am using Windows 10. There was no update on that date, both drivers are up to date and I am still having this issue.

I have tried literally everything. I have updated my drivers. Cleaned my disks, restarted my pc. Reset my export settings. NOTHING WORKS

@Lunacorva

Hi

. . . . Video Pro X will suddenly restart . . . .

Assuming you mean crashes and restarts then do the following to do a full clean up of potentially corrupt files:

  1. Load the project into VPX, select File, Manage project, Export movie file, Magix movie file (*.mvd) and save the movie with a different name.

  2. Reset the program settings - File, Settings, Reset program settings to default and close VPX. Note this will reset any custom program settings you have made

  3. In the folder(s) where the source video files are located delete all files that have the file extensions .H0 and .HDP and, if you have used Proxy files they will have 'proxy' in their fiename and the .mxv file extension.

  4. Start VPX, create a new project - do not load the old project - and remove the empty movie (timeline), click the x on its tab

  5. Select File, Manage project, Import movie file, Magix movie file (*.mvd) and import the file saved in step 1

  6. Save the project with a new name, and then try exporting again.
