Video Pro X 15 will not install

George-Monaghan wrote on 6/12/2023, 10:20 AM

Just purchased the new Video Pro X 15 and when trying to install the programme I simply get an error message box containing a yellow triangle with Abort, Retry, and Ignore messages.

Not a problem I have had in the past but thought it might be worth posting here before using technical support.

Any ideas are greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Thanks,

George

Hi

We need more information:

Computer specification, Windows version and program version, see this topic for what is required and please quote processor and graphics card make/model in full. The amount of free space on the hard drive(s) you have and also what monitor/screen resolution(s) your are working with if this is a laptop.

I would suggest you put this information in your profile signature so we do not have to keep asking for it.

Are the graphics card drivers up to date?

Have you had this error message?

Hi George,

At which point does it block - with the downloader program (videoprox15_dlm_et7jp0.exe) or with the download program downloaded by the downloader program? And, how far does it get in the process?

All,

Has anyone else tried out VPX15 yet?

With the downloader programme straight from the email receipt. It loads up the "do you want this app to make changes etc." Then you get the error box as described above.

George

Hi

Try temporarily turning off your Antivirus Realtime/Folder/Ransomware protection feature - I had to do this on my PC.

Hi

. . . . downloader programme straight from the email receipt . . . .

Download and install the trial version, if that installs correctly, activate the program with your serial number from the email.

Sorry to say that did not work. Got to a glimpse of a splash screen before it closed down with the same error message as before.

I use Bitdefender as my anti-virus suite and thought that perhaps that was blocking access to the internet but that was not the case:

The application MxDownloadManager.exe attempted to connect to the Internet: File path: C:\Users\George\AppData\Local\Temp\mgx6z48jdj8\MxDownloadManager.exe Destination: 195.214.216.160/0 Protocol: TCP Port: HTTP Bitdefender Firewall has granted access for this application. If you want to deny access, click on the button below or go to Firewall - Rules.

My Magix update notifier will not even update, it just hangs doing nothing and it only seems to be the Magix video software that is the problem. Music Maker is fine and updates normally.

Thanks,

George
