Video Image Stablization fails to install Keyframes..

PurpleBarney wrote on 11/19/2012, 4:57 PM

In Using Movie Edit Pro MX, I am trying to stablize a portion of recorded video.  I run through the dialog box to stablize the video; and it looks good on the dialog box; so I click OK.  The Video stablization effect is added to the video clip; but no keyframes are added to the effect (meaning that the video clip is not being stablized).

In the "Movie Edit Pro" Manual, the documentation on page # 273, shows the added keyframes that govern the position of the video frame by varing the X, Y position.  These keyframes are not being added to the video clip, in the software, which has been updated to the latest version, 11.0.6.0

*** Note: Video fails to be stablized even with information inside video clip.  I can see the stablizing waveform overlaid on the video clip.  When I render down the video; the stablized clip fails to be stablized. ***

Is there an Update to the software that corrects this problem?

Also, the Magix Xara 3D title software fails to close properly, and gives an error: "Failed to save to C:\Users\......\AppData\Local\Xara\Magix 3D Maker Embeded\Lastdocument.x3d"

Hi,

I am using MEP 18 MX premium and my manual makes no mention of key frames with regard to video stabilization.  Here is what you should see if the effect was in fact performed.

A couple of times I got caught because I performed the stabilization then forgot to click "OK"

Let us know if you do not see the above after performing the stabilization.

Good Luck,

George

Like George, my MX Premium manual make no mention of keyframes in the Image Stabilization section, and though the clip legend shows that Image stabilization has been done and stabilizations are listed in the effects window, there are no individual key frame little diamond icons. That's sensible as there is typically one for every frame!

What I do see is an effect curve -- I don't know why me and not you.

Hi George and Carl

Interesting observation:-

MEP 17             - you get keyframes

MEP MX             -  you get no keyframes

MEP 2013        - you get keyframes

All patched to latest version.

I am reasonably certain that you used to get keyframes in MEP MX before the last patch.
