Video Deluxe files needed?

I have just installed Movie Studio 2024 Suite on my PC running Windows 11. I admit to still being a little confused by the W11 directory structure but I note I have 10 Application files for Video Deluxe Premium 2024. I think I may have downloaded them when prompted when Movie Studio starts. They are stored under "Magix Downloads" My simple question is do I need them?

Hi

The files in the Magix Downloads folder are the installers for the Extra Content that you download and install, ie the extra templates, effects, transitions, features etc.

If you need to free space on your hard drive I would suggest your copy them them to DVD or Blu-Ray discs, so in the event of a future re-install, you have them avaialble without the need to download them again, you can also download and put the main program installer, which you can get from your account at magix.com, onto a disc with the downloads.

Ok thanks. They downloaded to my documents directory and on w11 that is backed by the Windows One drive cloud and made that short of capacity. I have moved the files to my download directory which is not subject to Onedrive backup.

So what do I do with these files now?? Do I select each one or did the download auto add them to my MS app? You would think Magix would provide some guidance rather than just provide a download list!!

Hi

If you have already installed the Extra Content, then there is nothing to do. If you have to re-install MMS 2024 at any time they can be put back into the Magix Download folder and then run from within the program, Help, Install extra content, without the need for re-downloading.

Do check that the MMS 2024 working folders are not using the One Drive cloud folder as the working drive, if it is then the working folders should 'local' on your PC to avoid performance issues.

Ah....OK so just selecting them and downloading does the job and they are saved in the Magix doeenload folder just in case I need to re-install. Thanks John, that makes sense. The issue was that they downloaded into a folder that is backed up by Onedrive so i have moved them.....all OK Thanks a lot. ( sorry if I appear thick!!)
