Vegas Movie Studio Randomly Stops Responding

I have Vegas Movie Studio 17 Platinum version installed on an HP EliteDesk 800 G3, with an Intel Core i5-7500T CPU @ 2.70GHz 2.71GHz and 32GB of RAM, running Windows 10 (ver. 21H1).

However, sometimes when I am editing videos, the program will stop responding and will not recover. Therefore, my only option is to close the program and lose any edits I have made since the last time I saved it.

Are there any suggestions for preventing this?
