Vegas 18 & 19 crash after dragging large video elements to timeline

I've had issues editing with Vegas since Magix bought the product, but now I can't even get started with a project. Just loading a 3-4 minute GoPro video to the timeline causes the program to become unresponsive and crash. I had been using Vegas 18, Build 527. I just upgraded to Vegas 19, Build 381. The issue repeats. Is there a new setting that I might be missing to free up RAM or something else to alleviate this issue?

@richard-bottegal

Hi

As you were told back in 2017, Vegas products have their own forum here.
