@Fraser

Hi

. . . . Rescue won't recognise my VCR . . . .

Do you mean that RYVT is not recognising the USB Video capture dongle?

The correct driver for the USB dongle is installed - the latest drivers are available here. If the dongle is marked K0065 or K0067 then select the Premium driver.

In RYVT the correct input from the dongle is selected S-Video if the VCR is or Composite

Assuming you are running Windows 10 or 11 and using the Magix USB dongle - check the following:

If using the Composite (SCART plug) output, ensure the plug switch, if it has one, is set to Out and/or is plugged into the Out socket on the VCR if it has more than one.

Windows settings, Privacy & security, App permissions, Camera and Microphone options - Let desktop apps access for your Camera / Microphone are set to on.

Thanks, stumbled across the driver issue and all seems well now.

I also have the same problem. RYVT will not recognise my VCR. When I try to create a new project and get to the import screen there is no option to select anything(S-video/composite). I have tried downloading the drivers as detailed above but get the error message "Please plug in video converter". Have also tried 3 different VCR's. Same result. I am using Windows 10. I have contacted support on 19/01/23 and also followed up with further request emails, but have had no reply. Any help greatly appreciated.

@Freddie-Brown

Hi

. . . "Please plug in video converter" . . .

Which converter to you have?

We also need more information to help diagnose the issue(s) you are having:

The specification of your computer system including Windows version, RYVT version, and Antivirus software being used. See this topic for what is required and please quote processor and graphics card make/model in full, and also what monitor/screen resolution(s)you are working with if this is a laptop.

I would suggest you put this information in your profile signature so we do not have to keep asking for it.

Thanks for the reply.

I am using windows 10 on a HP Pavilion laptop. Graphics card Intel(R) Iris(TM) Graphics 6100. My system told me it was working properly and up to date. However, I deleted the driver and re-installed it from the HP website. All working well now.
