User-saved transition templates do not seem to work - possible bug

In X6 there seems to be a problem with transition templates. If I apply a transition between 2 objects (photos) and click on the A/B (transition icon between the 2 objects) and save the transition, when I try to apply the saved transition to another interface, nothing happens. Note that my saved transition shows up on the list but nothing happens when I click on it. I tried several with no success. I tried this in MEP2014 and it works fine.

I would appreciate it if someone could try this out on a new project in X6 to see if there is indeed a bug.

I tried 3 different Magix transitions:

  1. Magix – Movement – Morphing. I just modified the transition length to 3s from 2s, saved it as a transition, tried it on the next photo interface: nothing.
  2. Magix – Standard – Alpha magic, with 2s transition. Doesn’t work.
  3. Magix - Shapes and objects - Round. Doesn't work.

I also tried some Pixelan transitions; they are 64-bit and they do not work either, but they work fine in MEP2014 - on a different project.

I raised the issue with Magix. Here is the reply:

"If you are using a project from another version of the software it might be because X6 is a 64bit system and not all parts will be compatible.

Still things to check is you are running on the latest patch by going to the help menu online update, and that you have downloaded all the content after this by going to the help menu free downloads."

I replied back that I have the latest patch of X6, or at least when I tried to update, it said there were none. I have downloaded and installed all content; that was the first thing I did upon installation. I am not using a project from another version. The project was new, with about 20 photos, nothing more.

The comparison project in MEP2014 was also new, using only transitions available from the fades tab, and Pixelan transitions.

Here is a screen shot of the test before I added the Alpha magic and Round transition tests. The upper part is when I saved the transition. The lower part is when I tried to use it.

Today I received a message from Magix that the problem has been sent to the developers.
