I want to use my Yamaha motif XF8. utilizing the sounds on the xf8. how do I address them via music maker. is there a tutorial or some step by step instructions???
As far as I know, you can't use these sounds as an instrument in MMM. You can connect the keyboard through audio instead of MIDI, and record audio into MMM, which will use the sound from the keyboard. But, this will be audio, not MIDI.
In Samplitude Music Studio, you can play MIDI back through the synth/external keyboard and if the keyboard allows it, you can select the bank and patch numbers.
Thanks for the reply... do you know if I need a instrument definition file for Samplitude to address the sounds on my synth?? (as cakewalk does) Before I make a $100 purchase, I need to make sure I can do what I want.. which is, use my Yamaha XF8's sounds , store the sequence on my laptop, and play thru my motif...
Or.. can you advise where/what I need to use to do this? I do covers/originals... loops/mixes are not important...
You may want to download and try out Samplitude Music Studio before buying it. You have 30 days and there are probably some limitations; one is that you can't download all of the add-ons - effects and instruments. Also, Magix has a 30 day refund policy, so you can try out the complete version as well.
