Hi, welcome to the Magix forums.

Before we can begin to answer your questions we need a lot more detail from you about your computer, the version/level of Windows and MusicMaker you have, how the controller pad is connected to your computer, what you have tried so far to effect any change, etc., etc.

Please read https://www.magix.info/uk/forum/please-do-the-following-before-posting-your-question--621831/

Thank you.

My computer is new, bought it in January this year. Windows 10. MusicMaker is the Magix MusicMaker Premium v.24 and was bought as the software/USB keyboard controller pad bundle through Amazon from Magix. The pad connects via USB port.

Straight from day one of having the software and controller, there was a delay between hitting the piano keys and the sounds. We have unplugged and reconnected. We tried to change the delay through the software. None of that made a difference. The keyboard is very unresponsive, in the sense that I play a chord and no sound will come through.

Thanks for the extra information; unfortunately, it is not everything we need! That your computer is new may be a good thing (in the context of your problems) but, whatever its age we need to know:

  • What CPU does it use
  • Which specific version of Win 10
  • How much RAM does your computer have
  • What type and size of hard disc, and how much of the disc is empty
  • What GPU (graphics hardware) if it does not use that built-in to your motherboard
  • Exactly which version of MMM Premium (check in the program under Help>About)

With that additional information we may have some greater idea of how to help you!

However, from what you write I would very strongly suspect your problem is something called "latency" (the delay between creating a sound and hearing that sound) caused by the processes happening inside your computer; latency is the bane of computer-based recording. Can you please open Program Settings and the Audio/MIDI tab? It looks like this.

We especially need to know what is shown on your computer inside the outlined box. A screenshot of yours would be ideal.

Use either the ASIO or WASAPi drivers of your soundcard in the audio / midi tab. You may also want to try out the tool Latencymon in order to get to know, if you hardware is capable of streaming audio & video in real time. http://www.resplendence.com/latencymon
