For uploading to Youtube it is better to export the video as h.264/AVC encoded (MP4), File, Export movie, Video as MPEG-4, you can then check the video on your computer before uploading to your channel using the Youtube uploader.
Youtubes recommendations are here, do note if you create MPEG-2 format file the files iszes will be bigger and take longer to upload.
Do note that Youtube will re-encode the video into different, lower, resolutions to cater for the viewers Internet connection speed.
If we're talking about UPloading to YT, here are my tips:
-Upscale your videos to at least 1440 eg 2560x1440 16:9 or 1920x1440 4:3 and YT will encode your videos in the better VP9 codec (that is for MP4/H264, don't know about MPEG 2, which I would not recommend). VP9 will be used for all the smaller versions it also encodes. You can see which codec YT has used by right-clicking on a video int the YT player and choosing "stats for nerds".
-Give your videos the most bitrate your upload speed can handle that is make your videos as large as you can stand.
-Do not include black borders. YT will accurately display any shaped video.
-FYI, Movie Studio 2025 does not have the YT upload utility.
John, I stand corrected. Never used that tab. It was removed from the Share menu, which is what was referring to. The right hand obviously doesn't know what the left hand has done.
do note if you create MPEG-2 format file the files iszes will be bigger and take longer to upload.
I suspect that it was removed because YT kept changing their upload parameters and the MMS uploader wouldn't work. Too many complaints.
It would be good if @Nani425 would come back and explain. I think @Nani425 wants to download a video from YT to be edited in Movie Studio. Since it's your channel, just go to My Videos in YT, select the 3 dots Options menu beside the video,
and download it. Put it where you want. Drag or load it onto the timeline in Movie Studio. Edit. Simple as that.
