@Bthanse Has Magix sent you an e-mail? They will usually do this if you are allowed to buy an upgrade for a reduced price. Just try it.

Bthanse wrote on 6/17/2021, 9:13 AM

This is the e-mail that I have got sometimes the last days. I find it difficult to get any answer from Magix, so I do not know if I want to take the risk to see if it work or not. 69,99 Euro lost.

Very unlikely. When you upgrade it checks that you have a program to upgrade from and I would expect that you would have to have a paid edition to do this upgrade.

SP. wrote on 6/17/2021, 9:17 AM

@Bthanse Ok, have you clicked on "Save now" ? If you can buy it for 70 Euros the upgrade is unlocked for your account. Otherwise it wouldn't be possible to buy the upgrade, like Graham-Hawker stated.

This is the page that opens :

I am not sure ?

SP. wrote on 6/17/2021, 9:27 AM

@Bthanse Ok, click on "Upgrade Now". I think you must then log into your user account. The shop then tells you if the upgrade was unlocked for your account and if your are able to buy it.

Edit: Good, the text in the middle says, that you can get the upgrade for this price.

How much do an update from one year to another normally cost if you have the premium edition ?

Currently it's 59.99 Euros. But I can't see the point unless there's a whole bunch of new features. I have the 2019 Premium Edition but I mainly use the 2021 Free Edition to which I've added all my 2019 features and instruments. The extra stuff like Song Maker is of no interest to me.The only thing I added was the VST bridge but I had a voucher. I have played the offers game so got Samplitude Music Studio very cheap in a Fanatical bundle and all the instruments are available in Music Maker. Then things appear in Humble bundles as well which often include vouchers. Even my original 2019 Premium edition was part of a very cut price Performer pack which I got for the Midi Controller (at half the cost of buying the controller on it's own) so I consider that as free.

My guess is that you choose upgrade from the Magix site and when you log in for the payment screen the cost will be zero. Just a guess though.

It's not really clear what you done but if you downloaded the "update" in Music Maker 2018 you may have replaced it with the free version of the latest version if you weren't careful what you were doing. If this is what you have done log in to your Magix account where you will find the installer for 2018 and reinstall it.

It goes not down to zero.

SP. wrote on 6/29/2021, 1:18 PM

@Bthanse @nicholas-helm Just download and install the newest (free!) version 2022 from Magix.com. It will uninstall and replace the 2021 version. Then use your e-mail and password to log into your user account. All your old features will be unlocked in 2022. But the new features like Beatbox Pro and Song Maker AI are paid add-ons because they are new.

SP. wrote on 6/29/2021, 1:24 PM

@Bthanse I think you should be able to unlock the new features for free because you got version 2021 with a free upgrade to premium edition of 2022.
