I will look for that, looking for the cable to work I have a windows 10 computer it works fine on on my 11 it doesn't, I'll look for those options

I was doing internet searches relating to any information on Windows 11 audio drivers. That was the closest I got.

I checked and as far as I could tell everything is on the speakers on the laptop work fine it's the mic input that is not working

Coming rather late to this thread but it seems that, as has been commented several times before, Win 11 does not include a needed driver to enable your computer to see the 1/4" to USB cable you are using. Without such a driver it will not work!

One request: your replies to questions and advice offered by other users are becoming increasingly difficult to follow! When "answering questions" or giving additional information please copy or quote the original post to which you are replying, That way, we can all keep fully up to date on your progress, or lack of it.

In addition it is very helpful if you "tag" the member whose post you are responding to! Simply type @ and a list of the names of those who have previously participated in the thread will be revealed; choose the one who you are answering and it will appear like this, @jeff-brown8145.

Hi.

I feel that the only solution left if all else has failed is to buy a dedicated audio interface such as the M-Audio M-Track Solo which has dedicated Windows 11 drivers available for it from their website. That one appears to be quite cheap and I personally have always been happy with M-Audio products.

do those use specific software or will they work with any software and does it come with any

Hi.

As the M-Track Solo is an audio interface and there are Windows 11 drivers available on their website (I checked) then it should show up in the Windows audio devices and be active to be picked up by Movie studio as long as you specify it to be an input that is active in Windows. The same as Stereo mix is.

I no longer have an additional sound card but Jeff (emmerecs) does.

@emmrecs should be able to verify this as he uses a different audio interface in his setup.

You should try it out as you suggested.

Hi,

I have an M-Audio M-Track that comes with an excellent ASIO driver. I have my output set to the M-Track in Windows because I monitor using headphones connected to the M-Track. It is not tied to any specific software. Any software that uses ASIO should give options to use the M-Audio ASIO driver.

Why are you trying to record your guitar directly into the video editor and not to a DAW? Even Music Maker would give you more options.

I do both with the video editor I can direct the tone with the video to match up, I also use both when recording a generic track to be used anywhere
