Update/Patch to version 22.0.3.171

me_again wrote on 2/27/2023, 9:10 AM

Greetings

I downloaded this update about an hour ago but I couldn't see on the popup what the updates were for - obviously I could have missed it having only had 3 cups of tea. Does anyone know what it's fixing / improving / knackering?

I've tried it out for all my personal niggles and none of those have been fixed.

@me_again

Hi Andy,

I presume it's the same patch as for VPX except that clicking on the latest version gives the patch information:

Stability improvement

That is all.

Meanwhile it is really ridiculous since always getting again old errors back with so called "improvements".

After installing the "stability improvement" the first result showed an old error again - Chroma Key and Chroma Key Pro are not useable anymore.

Older saved projects are only flickering and lost information about brightness, contrast etc...

No support, no work-around, no possibility to uninstall the update, no improvement....etc.

For me this was the last try after 4 years trouble with Magix Movie - I will uninstall magix movie studio 2023 suite 22.0.3.171 (UDP3) now and regret the invested money and time.

Good luck for other users.

Hi

. . . . After installing the "stability improvement" the first result showed an old error again - Chroma Key and Chroma Key Pro are not useable anymore. . . .

As you have not previously posted on the 'old error again' what is the actual issue you are having?

The most common issue is with Chromakey appearing partially grey on application - if this is the issue see this topic and this comment.

@LostEndurance @johnebaker

I believe the "Chroma Key" and "Chroma Key Pro" to which @LostEndurance refers are actually plugins, possibly from NewBlue?

If so, I think this may be an issue which you need to raise with the plugin manufacturer.

Hi Jeff, you are right, the problems I am facing are related to "Chroma Key Pro" and "Alpha Processor" being part of  "New Blue Elements". Both don't work anymore after installing update 22.0.3.171 for Movie Studio 2023 Suite.

All current versions from  "New Blue Elements" have been installed again but "Chroma Key Pro" and "Alpha Processor" still don't work.

This happened meanwhile 3 times after the Magix Updates - mostly the next update corrected this issue.

I tried to get support from NewBlue - they send me back to Magix, so I am lost here again.

Furthermore the Magix Chroma Key does also not work correctly after the update 22.0.3.171.

Means 3 of the most important modules are unusable for me.

Works fine for me on v 22.0.1.171.

If it is not the issue I linked to in my previous comment, in what way does it not work correctly, please be specific?

Screenshots would help as would your computer specification, this may be a program hardware setting issue, see this topic for what is required and please quote Windows version, processor and graphics card make/model in full.

I would suggest you put this information in your profile signature so we do not have to keep asking for it.

Are the graphics card/integrated GPU drivers up to date?

A screen shot of the Program settings, Device options tab would help.

Dear John, thanks for picking up my problem. As already mentioned I had the same problem also after some updates in the past. Mostly the next update from Magix corrected this. (by the way, I got version 22.0.3.171 and not 23.0.1.171). Now I have reached a final frustrating-point, means I don't want to invest my time anymore for Magix-Updates and corresponding impacts. So I am done with Movie Studio 2023 Suite and Magix. Hope to find another application including the required functions.

Thank you and best regards.

@LostEndurance

Hi.

I think @johnebaker may have made a typo on his version of MS. If so then are you importing ProRes files to use with Chroma Key?

If you are then it may be linked to the problems in this topic where the issue seems not been fixed in MS 2023 but is working in VPX 14. At least as far as I can make out with my try-outs.

Ray.

Hi there, last try, is there any way to get the download to the last version before 22.0.3.171 for the magix movie studio 2023 suite ? Still no answer/reaction from Magix-Support/Sales neither by trying to get the via phone.

Hi Andy, thanks a lot ! Maybe I explained it in the wrong way. What I want to do is to go back with my magix movie studio 2023 suite to the patch-level before 22.0.3.171. Means one patch-level before 22.0.3.171.

Regards

emmrecs wrote on 3/10/2023, 9:58 AM

@LostEndurance

As far as I am aware you cannot simply uninstall the latest patch and thus return to an earlier build, sorry.

I think the only method to achieve what you want to do, as @me_again suggests, is to completely uninstall the app (having previously used the option Help>Deactivate program) and then download and install the base program and allow it to update as far as the previous patch.

However, this is really a lot of work (deactivate, completely uninstall [including all files and folders which the standard uninstaller does not remove, see this tutorial for further information about this [don't be put off by its title, the method given for complete removal of an older installation also applies for you]], download the installer and program files, reinstall, re-register [so as to be able to access all the additional content your edition gives you], etc., etc.) without any guarantee that the original problem is going to be resolved!

Finally, an appeal! Several users have asked you various questions in previous posts to this thread. Regrettably, many (most) of them remain unanswered, I think. Please help us to really help you by always supplying as much information and answers to questions as you can. Thank you.
