I purchased Movie Studio 2023. I installed it succesfully and activated the software. When trying to open the software the screen comes up for a second then shuts down. Any suggestions on how to resolve
We need more information to help diagnose the issue(s) you are having:
Assuming you are running Windows 10 or 11.
To determine what was causing the crashing of MMS 2022 Suite, without the hassle of trying to pull apart the log file, run the Windows Reliability Monitor - it is available by several routes
Inside the Windows Control Panel under System and Security, Security and Maintenance it may be called View reliability history
OR
Click the Windows menu button and with start menu showing, type reliability
If neither of the above work then press Windows key + R to open the Run dialog, then type in perfmon /rel and click OK.
Look for entries similar to those shown below, when you select a date, this is from windows 11, Windows 10 should be similar.
Double click one of the fault notification for for Movie Studio 2023, the dialog in the red box opens and details what the Faulting Module was - post a screenshot of that dialogue.
The specification of your computer system including Windows version and program version, see this topic for what is required and please quote processor and graphics card make/model in full, and also what monitor/screen resolution(s)you are working with if this is a laptop.
I would suggest you put this information in your profile signature so we do not have to keep asking for it.

Is there a Windows update pending a computer restart?
Try doing a full restart of the computer - Windows button, Power option, Restart
. . . . Transitions.ofx . . . .
I believe this is from a third party transitions effect plugin - I have searched both my PC and laptop for this module and it does not exist on either. I have the Studio suite installed with no 3rd party transitions plugin.
Have you had an earlier version of Movie Studio or Movie Edit Pro, or a different video editing product, with a 3rd party Transition plugin?
Just to add to what John has just told you; I do have some .ofx effects installed but I, too, have searched my computer and that specific faulting file is nowhere to be found on my computer.
