Unable to install Sound Forge 10

ryw wrote on 6/22/2018, 1:39 PM

I have Sound Forge Audio Studio 10.0, Vegas Movie Studio HD Platinum 10.0 and ACID Music Studio 8.0 in my products on my account ready to download yet I download and the programs fail to install. For Sound Forge it does not compete the installation because my computer says the program is corrupted. I have used these programs on another computer for years and no problems. I just recently got a new computer and was looking to install them into the new one but they fail to do so.

No they did not.

That's strange that none of them install. Does other non-Magix software install OK?

Re download the installation file and try installing again with any no non-essential apps running in the background.. anti-virus especially. You could try downloading the AS10 installer for another source, though I've not heard of this problem before.

Anything else I have installed is just fine. Nothing else is running when installing as a rule but I would rather not stop my anti virus software plus since I have never used Magix before I really do not trust shutting down the anti virus. My concern is that my computer shows Sound Forge as corrupted. Could there be a problem with the software that Magix is providing me? I could do an upgrade to sound forge 12 or something but again will I spend the money then it not install. Yeah. I do not know what to say. I kind of need the stuff for my work. This delay is costing me.

Contact Magix tech support and/or search the SCS archives for AS10 installation issues. For instance, this and this (Microsoft .NET Framework), which could the common denominator affecting the installation of all your SCS apps. (SF, Vegas and Acid)
I'm not aware of any serious installation issues with the new AS or Pro 12, except for one or two isolated incidents.

Addendum, You could install the AS-12 free trial version and see if that installs ok and to check it out.

A quick search revealed an alternate non-Magix download for AS-10 (build 10.0.507).

I actually figured it out for Sound Forge 10. Every time I would attempt to install it would ask to download Microsoft .Net Framework and fail to install that then show as corrupted. So I downloaded the .Net Framework from Microsoft itself and just downloaded Sound Forge with no problem. Will test it out later to make sure it works ok and try to download the other software but I think we solved the problem.

Ok Downloaded the other two and had to download additional Microsoft Software and they installed just fine. I registered the software and it looks like I am good to go. Unless the software itself has issues I would say this problem got solved. Thanks!
