unable to export my tracks on mmm2014 please help

rannie-williamson wrote on 6/6/2017, 7:04 PM

Under the file tab everything in export is grayed out except for the first option.

Does anyone know how to correct this problem? I have tried the repair utility to no avail.

Running windows 10 (i know...i know; but I haven't gotten around to trying an alternate os)

Any ideas regarding a fix would be greatly appreciated.

Hi

Try restarting the computer - Windows start button, Power, Restart

. . . . Running windows 10 (i know...i know; but I haven't gotten around to trying an alternate os) . . . .

Different OS's can cause issues when trying to run Windows programs especially if you have to use a WIndows emulator.

Was MMM 2014 working OK, if so what changed on the computer? Eg Windows 7 or 8 upgraded to 10, or Windows 10 was updated to the Windows Creator edition.

Thanks for reaching out John, the program was working fine on Win8 i upgraded to 10 & i believe it was working fine on that os. I had to change out my hdd since i last used mmm. Maybe that is the probblem. Magix was installed on the replacement hdd also (my old laptop). i tried reinstalling after posting here lastnight the & was asked for my serial; after entering it, the program said it was invalid or already in use then locked me out completely. I cant even save mmm. Projects lol.

I put in a ticket with customer service; in hopes they reassign or reset my serial number, to see if that was the initial cause of not being able to export.

Hi.

I suspect the reason that registration was refused was because of your new HDD. I'm pretty certain serial numbers are linked to hardware IDs at the point of registration. Your new hardware will have generated a new ID and the server will have "assumed" that this is an installation on a computer different to the one it was already registered to and hence blocked it.

However, if you have explained all this in your support ticket I know Magix support staff are very good, and usually quick, at resetting your activation allowance.

Thanks Jeff, i was thinking the same thing after posting. Not being able to export anything though everything else worked fine leading up to completion of a project; should have been my indicator. The customer support team replied very timely. They asked for a screenshot of the error after entering my serial.

Jonathan reached out (within 24hrs) with the fix (you were right Jeff); helping me to reset my program so it would recognize my new hardware set up. Thank you all whom replied with suggestions regarding this error I encountered. Cheers!
