Unable to activate Magix Audio Cleaning Lab 15 Deluxe

Robert-DiBenedetto wrote on 10/24/2020, 2:15 PM

I have an older version of Magix Audio Cleaning Lab - it's version 15. It was working fine until I had a hard drive failure and needed to replace the hard drive in my computer. I have re-installed the software on the new hard drive. When I try to activate it, it connects to the server but then states "Unexpected data received" and the activation fails. There is also a Reactivation button which I tried using but it fails the same way. I then went into my account online where I have this software registered and tried to create an activation code. But it is asking for a Computer ID and no matter what I put there, it returns the error that the Computer ID is not valid. I am certain I have the correct serial number. Any thoughts?

I have the same problem with Magix Audio Cleaning Lab. I didn't even reinstall it. Been using it fine on my computer for years; when ran it recently it claimed I didn't have a registered version, and my attempt to reactivate my license gave me the same nonsense. Read that Magix was acquired by some investment firm early this year. It appears that the new Magix management decided to pull the license supporting plug on legacy products, this also included de-hosting freedb, a popular online music metadata server which has been around for years and was only recently acquired by Magix . Hi

. . . . pull the license supporting plug on legacy products, this also included de-hosting freedb . . . .

Legacy products that have no further support are mainly third party add-ons that were offered at the time of purchase for specific versions of Magix software, licencing was by the providers not Magix and several also had limited usage time span eg 2 years.

Freedb was dropped because it was obsolete, had some major limitations and had fallen into general disuse, as a community generated database it had not been updated by users for several years.

. . . . this forum is ignored by Magix . . . .

This is a user to user forum supplied by Magix for users to help each other with issues, advice and how to's and also demonstrate their skill with Magix products (Media section), it is not Magix Support and never has been.

Hope this clarifies a few misconceptions, and I would advise you to read the Community rules regarding posting - link is at the bottom of every page.

John, My computer with my 3 Magix programs was flooded in the high waters of Hurricane Harvey in 2016. Along with all the songs I had mp3'd with the programs. I see my programs under the Magix Service Center/My Products. But can't find where to re-install them. Can you direct me to where I can get them back? I'm retired now, and would like a 'hobby' to start. (All of my equipment was messed up in the water---usb cassette, usb turntable and my computer) Thank you...

Your comment has been hidden because of your totally false claim of "misinformation" being given to you. You say you are "out of here". I assume that means you no longer wish to participate in these forums? That is clearly your decision to make but if you continue to publish false claims of any kind your access to these forums will be permanently withdrawn.

Welcome to the Magix user to user forums.

Unfortunately, your post has nothing to do with the topic of this thread. However, I will give you a simple answer to what I think you are asking: in that section (My Products) of your account you should see a link on each one to "Download" the installer. Do so, making a note of the activation key for each one. Once downloaded, run the installer for each one an then activate it with the supplied key.

If I have misunderstood your question, please start a new thread with more details of what you need help with.
