Trouble recording audio

I have had trouble getting Sound Forge 16 or 17 to recognize the Recording Input. I can download & edit digital data from a CD or DVD or online no problem. However, the input that I can not find is the one I used to use most often in Sound Forge 12. I miss being able to click the "Record What You Hear" button. Can anyone help me figure out how to get Sound Forge to hear me? Thank you. Windows 10.

If you have Sound Forge Audio Studio 12, that was a unique build, so the settings may be different from the other Magix and legacy versions.

There are many topics and comments regarding 'Record What You Hear', search this forum. Here's a link to my most recent comment on the subject
If you have an internal soundcard, MS Sound Mapper and Windows Classic Wave driver usually work. Common to Realtek sound cards, the windows (recording) sound setting should usually be set to 'Stereo Mix', There are other not-so-obvious settings, like the Mic privacy setting, which also affects Stereo Mix.

btw, welcome to the Magix Sound Forge users community @Tommy-Taylor.
