Trouble installing

jlc360 wrote on 12/9/2020, 7:33 AM

I got hold of music maker dance edition 3 disc. When I try to install it it does not go past 92% on the installation progress. Is this not compatible with a system running windows 10? Is this why it won’t install? Any way around this? It also won’t let me uninstall it

Thanks in advance

@jlc360

Welcome to the Magix user to user forums.

Where, exactly, did you get hold of music maker dance edition 3 disc? To my knowledge that version is now rather old and so way well not be compatible with Win 10. Is there a copyright date on the disc? If so, what is it?

As for not being able to carry out an uninstall, I would guess this is because the Uninstaller log was never created because the installation failed to complete. In such circumstances I would advise getting hold of a copy of Revo Uninstaller, there are Free and Pro (paid for) versions. I know the Pro version includes a "Force Uninstall" option, I'm not sure about the Free, but using that option, you point the app to the folder where the installed Program Files are and Revo searches for everything connected to the program and removes it. It will show you a list of any files, folders, registry entries etc. it thinks should be removed. Just make sure you check this list carefully and only agree to the removal of those items you are sure are connected with this version of Music Maker, especially if you have ANY other Magix program(s) installed on your computer.

Hi Jeff

thanks for taking the time in responding so quickly. The disk has a copyright date of 1994-2009. I got it off eBay. (Took a chance lol) I’ve notice it is compatible with windows 7 so just thought Windows 10 might have had a compatibility
