Please first see this post:

(It's a pity that magix.info have still not included that at the top of this busy forum, as it would save some of us a lot of time.)

In particular you might let us know what version of MEP you're using.

Hi

This problem is known by Magix - they are working on it.

The sites used for the travel route animation are still there, however on the first attempt with MEP 17 I received a javascript error message which has since disappeared!!!

I suspect that the map providers have made a change to the mapping which has broken MEP

Terry can you confirm this please.

John

Hi John,

Works OK here in both MEP17 '10.0.11.0 (UC1)' and MEP MX '11,0,5.0 (UDC2)'.

While 'Loading Map' is spinning (misleading description - it's not loading anything yet) I click in the green box and type my destination. I'm assuming it's OK from that point on.

MX is same (except box is not green).

Careless coding (unfortunately now becoming more frequent IMO) results in the window being larger than the screen, 1932 x 1057 here, in both versions.

(Tried to edit my original, a few minutes after posting, but it failed. So here's my edited version.)

Well, first impression was that it works OK here in both MEP17 '10.0.11.0 (UC1)' and MEP MX '11,0,5.0 (UDC2)'.

While 'Loading Map' is spinning (misleading description - it's not loading anything yet) I click in the green box and type my destination.

MX is same (except box is not green).

Careless coding (unfortunately now becoming more frequent IMO) results in the window being larger than the screen, 1932 x 1057 here, in both versions.

However, I started with Manchester, but clicking the green '+' button does nothing.

In fact none of that row of icons does anything, not even a pop-up to remind me what it should do.

So I'm guessing that's what you mean?

ANOTHER EDIT: The above problem was with MEP17. But that seems OK in MX.

My version is MEP MX, Have taken your advice and typed in the destination and it now opens the map!  Many thanks.  Can now get on with editing a wonderful trip to New Zealand.

Hi Terry

I got the same as you when I type a destination in and the subsequent behaviour is as you have found.  Reading the German moderator forum I found the problem arose a few days ago.  This makes me think that the data supplied by the map provider has change.

As you have found the map size has now changed to a higher resolution.

John

Ah. At least I'm not alone. I raised this with Magix last week. They say the know the cause (but they're not sharing that information) and they working on a fix. I find I can click the destination box and select a place name and a map loads. However after that I can't enter any further pace name to form a route and none of the icons work. My geuss is that John is right bout the map providers.
