Transferring Soundpools

philip-eames wrote on 1/17/2022, 9:17 AM

Hi,

I am in the process of transferring my account to a new computer, and unfortunately I am unbale to load my sound pools which were spDVD -17/18 & 20. These were downloaded when I purchased previous versions and were not in fact DVD's.

I have placed them into the following pathway; -
C:\Users\Public\Documents\MAGIX\Common\Soundpools\ - but the program is not picking them up. I have previously had Magix 2014 and Magix silver 2017 and now run Premium Edition 2021

Does anyone have any suggestions how I may be able to load these sound pools onto my computer?

Thank you.

Windows 11

Athlon Silver

AMD Radeon

Hi,

First off, if you are installing Music Maker onto a new computer, it will likely be MM2022 (it's free). The most recent update is 30.0.4.44. Can you confirm this?

As soon as you login (Join), the program will acknowledge your 2021 Premium Edition and you will have access to everything, but you will have a lot to download and install under Downloads. You do not need to purchase 2022 Premium Edition unless you want the new features and some credits for instruments and Soundpools.

Once that is all done, if your older Soundpools are not showing up, go to Loops, click on the parameter gear and select Add new Soundpools. Then navigate to the root folder C:\Users\Public\Documents\MAGIX\Common\Soundpools\ and execute it. Everything should be picked up.

Hi

In addition to @browj2's comment.

What is your computer specification?

The details you have provideed are insufficient, see this topic for what is required and please quote processor and graphics card/chipset make/model in full - I would suggest you put this information in your profile signature so we do not have to keep asking for it.

Thank you both Johns.

John CB - unfortunately the sound pools don't want to transfer across, whihc is a shame as some of y recordings use them and are now useless.

Any further suggestions appreciated.

Kind regards,

Phil.

Hi Phil,

I don't understand. There is no transfer involved. What do you mean by "transfer?"

You simply copy everything that is under

C:\Users\Public\Documents\MAGIX\Common\Soundpools

from your old computer, minus the Shop folder (it will be created and populated by Music Maker), and paste it into the same location on your new computer. Then rescan the Soundpools as I indicated.

Here is a screen shot of one of the packages of Soundpools under the Soundpools folder.

Soundpool loops are just audio files, nothing mysterious here.

I just did this and it works fine.

Thanks John - cracked it. It took my 60 year old brain a while to sort it out but we got there. :)

Thanks for all your help.
