I am not clear on your dilemma. Have you installed SF Pro 9 and cannot activate ? Or can you not download it from Magix?
Check the serial number in the Magix Service Center > 'My Products', You will need the email and password it was registered under, The same to download the latest version from Magix. Activation issues are normally handled by the Magix Customer Service Sales team. I am aware of folks who have SF-9 installed on 64 bit Win 10 PCs and it runs as it should

FYI, SF-9 is a SCS (Sony Creative Software) version, so it may be installed on more than one (or two) PCs. Magix versions of SF-12 and up, can be activated on only two devices simultaneously. There are options to deactivate SF in one device so you can activate SF in an alternate PC if needed.

SCS versions of SF can be activated on an unspecified number of devices before further activation is locked. They can be unlocked though by Magix customer service with valid reason for an excessive number of activations.

btw, Welcome to the Sound Forge community

Number one: I have sound forge 9.0 that I’ve enjoyed for a long time, on a computer that is running windows vista. I know,Ug!

Number two: I now have a second computer that is running windows 10.

I want to move sound forge from the first one to the second one. Like a dummy I did not have them send me a back up disk originally, I just downloaded the program into the first computer.

Number three: I got to the point and the technical support section of Magix where I could receive or request an activation code and when I entered the ID of the second computer they said incorrect information.

by the way thank you so much for getting back to me! I don’t want the first program to completely disappear before putting it over on windows 10. And I’m very comfortable with 9.0. I don’t do production I simply added songs to use when I DJ

Sorry I meant I simply added songs for my DJ performance laptop. I have the product number and Sonny or sound forge recognize me but I can’t get an activation code for the second computer

Just install SF Pro 9 on the Win 10 PC and use the same SF-9 serial # to activate it on-line. If you do not have the serial #, go back to the Vista PC where SF-9 is installed, Open SF and it is visible on the "Help> About Sound Forge Pro" menu page.

PS, the original disc version of SF9 probably would not activate properly, since activation is no longer through Sony, Use the SF-9 installation file from Magix.

SF Pro 9 should run on a Win 10 PCs without issue once activated.
