As you have surmised, Magix MS does not work like Vegas MS. The process is different. There are no track effects for videos/images. It is highly unlikely to ever have everything on a track need exactly the same effect(s). Having to put one or more video cllips/images on another track could mess up any transitions and is to be avoided. Thus, in Magix MS, you can copy an effect or effects (you can select which effects) and apply them to everything on a track or to selected objects. This is quickly and easily done. Then, you can tweak whichever objects need it. Same with transitions - do one, apply to all on track or selected objects or to a range, modify any that you want. You can save and reuse effects and transitions from one project to another.
There are some overall effects that can be applied to the project under the top menu, Effects, Movie Effects Settings.
Audio is a different animal and track effects are applied using the Mixer. Object effects are limited to those in the Cleaning part and object curve effects, no VST's unfortunately. However, you can use the Aux sends on an object to use Track FX in the Mixer, which can be VST's.
As for audio, you should have watched my 2 tutorials on Everything Audio. There is more shown than what was covered in this thread, like ducking (damping).

There is nothing wrong with the Fade-in and nothing has changed. I checked MEP2021 against MS2023 and VPX14. With video/audio on separate tracks, dragging the fade handle of either video or audio creates a fade-in for both. Using the Object Editor also does both. If you've never used the object editor (Shift+N), it's time to start. Or, show me another way to quickly and easily make a fade of an exact duration. See my tutorials on transitions and fades.
As for clicking on the transition button at the beginning of a clip, that is for the video not the audio. Creating a fade or using any of the transitions applies to the video/image only. This is by design as you can't apply any of the other fancy transitions to audio, only video/image, and Fade-in is one of them.
It's -17C here, time to throw another log on the fire as I watch the mist on the St. Lawrence River caused by the phase transition from liquid (water) to solid (ice).

John, wrong. Read my lips: in MEP 2021, The 'Fade In" and "Fade Out", which is what Mike's referring to, judging by the "solution post", fades both the audio and video. I didn't realise what Mike was actually referring to before.
In MMS 2023, the audio is left behind. I suspect the "in" and "out" scenarios are designed only for the ends of objects that aren't touching others ie the very beginning and the very end of a project.
It is a nuisance that the Object Editor doesn't work on titles!

Mike, on further experimentation, this bug (where the audio fade doesn't occur) only applies to a "Fade In" and Fade Out", which are only applicable/available if the object has nothing butted up against it. That is, at either end is "in the clear" such as the beginning of a movie or the very end.
In all the other Transitions that I can see, the audio will fade along with the video. The "Through Black" fade, for example, will have both audios running at half-level in the centre of the fade. If you want silence at the middle of a fade through black, simply drag either the video end or audio end (round blobs) away from the join and both will fade, with zero video and audio in the middle of the fade.

You are quite right. Strangely, when I tested this on my laptop using MEP2021, using the transition button, Fade-in only faded in the video. I then tried on my desktop in MEP2021 and both faded in together. I moved my laptop from the front room with the view to my office, re-opened MEP2021 and tried again. This time in MEP2021 it did both audio and video. Go figure.
I guess that Magix fixed the bug that was in MEP2021. Using the transition button should not also fade the audio. If I want both, I'll drag the handle.
Try a different transition using the pop up. Does it also fade in the audio? Not in MEP2021, so why should the Fade-in transition be different?
Also, I can get MEP2021 to a state where clicking on Fade-in in the transition popup does not also fade in the audio. Maybe that is what I saw the first time round with my laptop. I will post the video a bit later.

At some time in the recent past the fade in/out behaviour has been changed, in MEP 2016 when you add a fade in/out the audio is also faded in/out.

What is the fade-in length? How do you know this (if you were a newbie)? You have to click on the button then click on Transition length, or Shift+N.
Same with transitions. What is the duration of a transition? With an effect? Not all are 1 second. N to quickly see and adjust transition durations, going from one transition to the next.
In the video below, pay particular attention at the 1m30s mark. I show how I got clicking on the transition button, Fade-in to act only on the video part, in MEP2021.
As for SPR, it was still a mess in MS2022, but works fine with improvements in MS2023. I like those moveable anchor points and the ability to quickly get the edge of a zoomed clip to an edge, corner or centre. Watch my tutorials.
BTW, I posted a new tutorial yesterday on keyframing SPR (only on my YT channel, soon to be in the forum).

An addition: you can fade the video or audio in isolation: just ungroup the video and audio (broken chain icon), set up your fade, then regroup.

It's USB; we bought it a few years ago for one of the kids for high school. Not very comfortable or adjustable (the mic only swings one way, not in our out) but seems to work OK. I use it with Bandicam; it pops up straight away, no questions asked.

I know the brand. Pads have worn well as well. Best to keep the mic to one side anyway to avoid plosives. I'm impressed.
I had a similar headphone mic combo many many years back but the mic wasn't that good and ear-pads got sweaty.
Although I have a number of mics, none are really suited to doing these short videos in the limited space I have around me and get in the way. I'm now wondering if I can make an arm to hang off my headphones. I have two small mics that would work. Hmmm.
