There is really no way anyone can answer your question because we don't know anything about what you would like to be able to do with MM.
However, why not download and test the Free (Basic) version and then decide whether you think it will suit your workflow and, therefore, whether the upgrade to the full Premium version is worthwhile?
First and foremost ….it isn't a fully fledged DAW so there are obviously some limits to what you can do with it ( for example, you can't record on multiple tracks at once - so you couldn't record a processed guitar track at the same time as recording a DI track for re-amping or record numerous mic inputs simultaneously)
It isn't the most stable platform around - so it will occasionally glitch or crash if you are doing a whole lot of processing at once ( this is particularly true if you're using a 3rd party VST or VSTi )
A lot of these crashes can be minimised by doing the processing in a more methodical manner - for example, get the basic track down ( using just the built loops/ synths / instruments etc ) , then save the project, and begin the processing ( ie adding 3rd party fx / VSTs etc etc ) one step at a time ; saving the project frequently as you go.
The MMM synths and instruments are pretty decent and the soundpools / loops are also pretty good. The Revolta 2 Synth is excellent ( I have been able to re-create all of my favourite tones from numerous 3rd party VST synths using Revolta 2 …..though, of course, I still can't resist using the 3rd party synths)
The FX are excellent ( particularly if you purchase some of the additional FX packs from the store)
Overall, you can, with a little care and patience, produce some pretty polished sounding tracks and there is more than enough built in to the programme ( or available purchase in the Store ) that you wouldn't really need much in the way of 3rd party software.
I saw they are having a sale for their premium edition $104.99 regular price $359.99. Has anyone ever used it? I’ve heard mixed things about it. Tell me what you guys think and if I should get it or not. I do already have Reaper.
You asked the same two weeks ago although the thread seems to have disappeared. The prices quoted don't make sense as Music Maker is much cheaper than this in dollars ($129 and reduced to $79)
I use Music Maker 2020 for laying down backing tracks which I export as individual .wav files then drag & drop them into Reaper. I don't do any 'processing' in MM as I find it to be A) a little 'glitchy' and B) very slow to respond once you start adding VST's/effects. Once you get used to the interface and its idiosyncrasies you can produce some pretty awesome sounding tracks, but personally I would recommend a more 'professional' DAW (such as Reaper) for polishing the tracks and adding vocals. MM *can* do it, but if you're familiar with Reaper you'll find it much easier to finish the tracks there. Just my 2 cents 😉
