@russell-daniels

Welcome to the Magix user to user forums.

It is a pity that your first post here is a rant and threatening legal action is not really going to achieve anything, I think!

There are a number of very experienced users of Video Pro X that visit and post here; it is quite possible that one or other of us might have been able to help and advise you had you given us rather more information about your computer, the exact version and build of VPX which you have and the actual problems you are seeing.

Like many modern software manufacturers there is no direct telephone support but there is a very comprehensive support ticket system. Admittedly, it is not always easy to navigate but you can start at this page; just make sure you carefully follow through all the linked pages. Once your ticket is submitted you should expect an automatic reply almost by return and a full answer, which may well request more details from you, within a couple of days.

I have had occasion to use the support ticket system several times and have always found the service to be excellent. I actually have an ongoing issue with VPX13 which apparently affects only myself and one other user, but support has been diligent in its attempts to help and has fed full details back to the developers in order to try and resolve it.

One final comment: did you actually try VPX on your system before you bought it? All Magix products offer trail versions; although they are in someway feature-limited in comparison with the purchased version they are invaluable in helping you to assess whether the product is what you want.

I agree with russell.. I have been trying to get a refund for the money that they took for loops unlimited after I had already paid a week earlier. I've sent in 2 support requests since the last week of march and I haven't gotten a response.

Hi,

Which product?

Why would you buy software from Dell, a computer manufacturer without checking out the site of the actual software producer?

If you bought Video Pro X, then what is offered on the Dell site is version 13, but version 14 is the current offering from Magix and has been for quite a while. Also, Magix is presently selling Video Pro X for $149US. You should have checked.

Since you purchased from Dell, only Dell can refund your money and I suggest that you contact them.

Check the computer requirements on Magix.com site, as they are quite stringent.

If you are getting crashes, then you are probably using video clips that contain variable frame rates and most video editing programs do not like these. If you wish, we can help you determine what is causing your problems, but you have to provide details.

So, do you want help?

@browj2

John, the OP posted in 2021 and has long gone, by the looks of it.

All my forum comments are based on or refer to my System 1.

My struggle is over! I built my (now) system 2 in 2011 when DV was king and MPEG 2 was just coming onto the scene and I needed a more powerful system to cope. Since then we've advanced to MP4 and to bigger and bigger resolutions. I was really suffering, not so much in editing (with proxies) but in encoding, which just took ages. A video, with Neat Video noise reduction applied, would encode at 12% of film speed. My new system 1 does the same job at 160% of film speed. Marvellous. I'm keeping my old system as a capture station for analogue video tapes and DV.

@Jeremy-Russell

As already stated, please start a new thread (without using any inflammatory language like "rip-off") in the appropriate section of the forum. Since you mention Loops Unlimited I assume you actually have Music Maker? In which case you should post to the Music Maker section of the Audio products forum.

This thread will be closed.
