"The choosen directory is write protected" What does this mean???

I was trying to record today and I have a USB microphone. I clicked the record button, but the message appeared ; "The choosen directory is write protected Cannot write any data." I have never seen this message before and I have recorded many times with this. The program I am using is Magix Music Maker 2013.

Hi

Open the programs settings ( P key) and on the Folders tab look for the location of the My Record folder and check that the folder MMM wants to save the recording in exists.  The folder path will probably be something like this:

      c:\users\username\MAGIX\Music Maker 2013 Premium\My Record

where username = the name you logon to your computer with
