Stretching a Looping Video?

Brian-Wicker wrote on 10/6/2023, 12:22 PM

I just purchased the Video Pro X14 software and I am coming from older versions of other magix software where you could just stretch a video and it would loop the video as needed (it didn't seem to matter how far you could stretch it) (you would have to hold control to speed or slow the video).

I am trying to loop a 20 second camp fire video to use as a background for a 10 min video. Perhaps I am just not observant enough, but it is not popping out at me, and the usual search for answers has given me nothing.

Reading another post it seems copy pasting it the most effective method... but that can freeze up the software.

@Brian-Wicker Hi, dragging the clip to make it loop play is Vegas, you say you're coming from older software but from that comment i suspect you're coming from Vegas Movie Studio (VMS), Video Pro X (VPX) is a totally different program & as you've found out the only way to do this would be to copy/paste (Ctrl+drag to duplicate a clip on the timeline)

It would seem so lol. I just know I bought from the Humble Bundle deals. Sony Vegas lead to Movie Studio and now to Video Pro X. I might just have to play with this software and see how much new stuff it offers :D

@Brian-Wicker Yeah, the chain of programs is messed up, Magix bought Vegas in 2017 i think, Vegas had VMS & Magix had Movie Edit Pro (MEP) & VPX. when they bought Vegas VMS came to an end & the direct upgrade would/should be to Vegas Pro which is still going, but in 2021, i think, Magix changed the name of MEP to Magix Movie Studio (MMS), & it seems when people try to upgrade from VMS they get offered MMS or VPX, They're not upgrades they are different programs, Magix is pulling a fast one with that deal. 😒

@Brian-Wicker 👍 If you got it cheap enough, $25 is hard to sniffle at 👍
