Sounds produced by Samplitude 15 synths are severely distorted

Initially, the demo and instruments that came with my Samplitude Music Studio 15 had very beautiful sounds. Not long afterwards, it seemed the default global volume level became too high and all sounds produced by the software came out badly distorted and excessively loud. Meanwhile, all other installed music production and editing software in my computer continued to produce excellent sound. I use a USB-powered Line6 TonePort KB37 as my default sound source and MIDI controller. I use its own ASIO settings. I've uninstalled and reinstalled, but the distorted sound remains. Even when I use WDM or MME settings, the same distortion is present. Is there a fix for this?

If your levels are in the red on your audio channel that you have your plugin on then you may need to turn down the gain.

However if your levels are not in the red and you still are experiencing distortion it most likely is a sound card driver issue. When you bounce out a file is the sound still distorted? If it is not then there is the answer of it being a sound card driver or setting problem.

Ideally you should always use an ASIO driver as this is the exact driver designed for audio.  ASIO stands for Audio Streaming In and Out. This is a standard that was designed for low latency and to allow the hardware to communicate directly with audio programs by passing the various internal mix engines that your Operating system introduces.

If this does not help then feel free to raise an email support ticket with support.
