Soundforge 13 No data to the recording, no sound from speakers

I am trying to record cassettes on Soundforge via a US equipped cassette deck, using Windows 10. I have used it before in Audacity, with good results. When audacity did not record, I tried it on my Soundforge 13. Same result - no data goes in, no sound (not even static) comes out.

Go to "Options> Preferences> Audio" and select the Audio Device Types 'Record' tab and see if it is listed there. Select it if it is.
If not , it is likely a Windows issue. Look in the "Sound" settings> Recording (tab)" and enable it there, Then re-check Sound Forge 'record tab' setting.

btw, welcome to the Magix Sound Forge users forum @hankiam.

Thanks for your quick response and your welcome to the board!

Unfortunately, I did all of those things. Twice! I suspect it is a bios problem, as the Realtek chip on my motherboard seemed to be the one both Audacity and its big brother liked best. I have a note in to their support people and hopefully someone there has a clue. Ironically, this machine has a great honking Nvidia board that only shows up in the devices as a gaming item.
