Sound Forge won't remember souce folder

Judge wrote on 4/6/2020, 10:02 AM

I have Sound Forge 13 Pro, Windows 10

I may have five music files to edit. All are in my "working" folder. So I open one file, edit it, then save the file to one of several "finished" directories. I close the file I just saved, and go to open the next file. Sound Forge USED to remember my source directory. Now instead of going to "working", it goes to the "finished" file folder where I just saved the first file.

I found and checked "remember output folder" in preferences. I can't find where to tell it to "remember source folder." Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.

Welcome to the Sound Forge community @Judge

I cannot think of anything off-hand. I would uncheck the "Remember last used Save as folder" in "Options> Preferences> General", and re-start SF.

Otherwise you can try restoring SF and to the initial install default settings which also clears the cache. Of course all the customizations will be reset to as well.

Thank you. The cure is almost worse than the disease! :)
