Sound Forge Pro update price

I just looking at updating sound forge... I guess this I just want to point out the weirdness on the website as far as pricing..

It says the update is $199 - regular $599.. umm..

When did Magix hike the price of this product over 150%?

I guess they aren't interested in being competitive? I upgraded my Wavelab instead.

Don't need a bunch of extra plugins, I have 100's of them already.

This seems to be the pricing for the suite-version which comes with a lot of plugins, the regular SF Pro 13 costs $399, but I'm not sure what the update price is. They also have sales on SF now and then, but I agree their prices are not very low considering their current market position (only based on my impression).

It's overpriced, considering how lacking it has become compared to rivals like WaveLab and Acoustica (Premium).

I would not update Sound Forge Pro. Instead, I would get Samplitude Pro Suite on promotion ($149). Samp has good Wave editing built in, and is amazing for mastering. It bundles SFP 11.

Apart from 64-Bit and VST3, later versions aren't really good enough to pay for the upgrade...

Also note that there's a bug in SF 13 that means extracting regions will crash the program https://www.magix.info/uk/forum/extract-regions-crashing-sound-forge-pro-365--1233336/

Suggests the program was released without sufficient testing.
