Sound Forge not tolerant of long, inactive recording sessions

SF 14.0, build 65, Windows 10 Pro 1909, AMD A12 12 GB mem

I convert (A/D) tape cassettes and if I go away from the computer for a couple of hours failing to stop the recording, the exe file appears to get trashed.

What's a cassette?
Anyway.. go to "Options> Preferences> General" and check mark "Allow wave renders to 4GB". Generally, WAVE files <.wav> have a max 2GB size limitation. Otherwise, the Sony Wave64 <.w64> format does not have the limitation

btw, There is also a recording timer option in "View> Record Options".
