Thomas-Wikman wrote on 8/31/2022, 1:10 PM

Where can I find the Sound Forge 15 installation download i.e. the 650MB file that installs the product. I am having problems with Sound Forge and everytime I uninstall/reinstall the software it has to download the full exec. Can you please provide me with the .exe so I can keep it on my pc and reinstall the software when I have to. Thank you.

@Thomas-Wikman The download manager stores all files in C:\Users\YourUserName\Documents\MAGIX Downloads\Installationsmanager

Perhaps it is still there. Please check.

@Thomas-Wikman, If you do not still have the unpacked installer files in your "MAGIX Downloads\Installationsmanager (as SP. stated). I can PM you a link to download the unpacked installation files for Sound Forge 15. Which version you have a license for (Pro or Audio Studio)? You will still need to activate SF with a valid serial code and the paired email address.

Thank you. I found the files on the path that you specified. Have a great day!

I would appreciate a direct link for SF 15 PRO.
I have just ditched my long unusable SF14 since Support has not yet answered my ticket about it. So Mr rraud, hope you may help me this time, because this new version is uninstallable as yet.

Hi @Cielspacing, I am not aware of a link to download the unpacked installation files for SFP-15 directly from Magix.
However, here is a link to download the SFP-15 (the current build) installer files on WeTransfer.
https://we.tl/t-tFFNrNqCxI .
The link expires in 7 days as I recall.

Thank you rraud.
I have just answered your other response to my post at a related thread. There, I explain the main events that have got me here in this actual predicament.
Now, you have provided here, what I hope is the temporal solution (until it happens again!). Thank you already for this and your personal help with my issue.

EDIT:
I have just installed your installer, which once completed, opens its online registration system, So I accepted it, when asked, placed my brand new SF15 P3 license, then the window showed two green positive ticks, one next to the license key and the second next to my email.
But then it all came to halt with the following window:

To which I have already answered to the thread where this issue is talked about. I have checked my firewire settings, turned off windows defender, modified IExplorer settings... All shared solutions to no avail.

Thus No I cannot install Sound Forge again! If you were in my place, what would be the proper emoticon you would post here? Or better any other potential solution?
Thanks

EDIT2:
I went to check if the new SF 15 Pro figured already in my Magix account products.
Nope, it wasn't, so I proceeded to register it. It requested my new serial and aceepted it correctly at first try.
Therefore once Sound Forge 15 figured at my products section, i followed downloading its installer from that page.
Again (same thing that happened with version 14) the little pre-installer downloaded and installed correctly... until it all got stopped and the second usual window appeared:

No way, that I could find so far allows me to overcome this installation blockade.

Assuming your internet connection works otherwise, temporarily disable your PC's firewall and antivirus and try to activate again.

Cielspacing wrote on 12/22/2023, 1:25 AM

Please rraud, I have been a complete failure regards authorising my Sound forge Pro15 (and SF Pro 14 for this matter). Actually yeterday I managed to erase the copy you sent me by we transfer as part of the de-installation routines described in some help articles (one for VEGAS). I don't know where to look further and support is not even willing to answer my ticket...

So, I'd appreciate if you are able to send me again a download link, you are the actual only one responding to me in this issue apart from.SP in this forum. And now even Samplitude is not recognizing my license.

After years and decades of learning and investing and with a very relevant event coming in a few days I don-t know where else to look for, except start a campaign in KVRaudio, Gearspace and whatever forum I may have had signed...
Which feels awful after been supportive of this community and companies (Magix, Sony Creative, Sonic Foundry) since decades ago, but this are my instruments, of which I have licenses (and hold them) many times over from different released versions... and I depend on them and this just is not fair to me, and I guess also for some other who might fall in this situation as well. Furthermoer, I've been fixing computers anf installing software for decades but this license sudden failures have been insumournable to me, what woud be such for regular users?
Thank You

@Cielspacing Have you tried disabling Windows Defender? Have you contacted infoservice@magix.net for a direct download link of Sound Forge?

Sadly, I only have the installer of SF 15 Pro Suite in my account, so you need to wait until Support or @rraud responds.

@Cielspacing Have you tried disabling Windows Defender? Have you contacted infoservice@magix.net for a direct download link of Sound Forge?

Yes, I am getting to know W10 as I do W7, XP and earlier. Windows Defender is Turned OFF at Real-Time protection as it is at Cloud-Delivered Protection, plus at Tamper-Protection too.
Then Controlled Folder Access is Turned Off, despite the system notifications keep showing me it is still blocking folder access to relevant folders User/Download/Magix. So I have started granting specific folder access to every folder related to Magix in my PC. This access is given to "Everyone" with permissins to Read and Write.

Furthermore as indicated elsewhere, I have turned off Windows Firewall Protection, to each of all three levels: Domain Network, Private Network and Public Network.
Even went to Firewall specific app allowance thru and added all .exe files at Magix folders.

In Parallel, wen to each four browsers and stopped smart screen blocks, and granted all available permissions, including insecure content (which allows HTTP sites, as this link in a related forum thread here, acknowledges it as a solution for a very similar installation failure.

Plus, in October contacted a Magix representative through the online chat support who was in sales support (only area accessible) and he was very kind to forward my description of the issue to Magix support, creating an email ticket, which number in its subject field has been maintained visible in all my three (3) main lone main responses to it. An email correspondence that has not received ANY SINGLE RESPONSE from anyone at Magix's support department, despite my rather complete descriptions, including links to the two threads in this forum (one related to SF 15 Download failure and the other with the repeating desauthorization issue theme).
Not even a personal little email saying hi or actually someone, a person with a name or avatar taking account of my issue...

As anyone reading my posts may atest, for the most part I have communicated in a civilized way and have provided all the info requested that could help in assisting me, without in fact using adjectives to qualify Magix support (or lack of) until now.
I would have expected that someone knowledgeable, like you .SP and rraud here would have stepped in and direct me to the steps, or instructions to fix these issues or... alternatively that my P2 licenses could be put to work, since those are supposed to prevent exactly this kinds of problems.
I am still waiting in this regard (and using my valuable time in repair attemps and sadly not using my artistic time in what I was asked to do)

Sadly, I only have the installer of SF 15 Pro Suite in my account, so you need to wait until Support or @rraud responds.

Understood
Thank you for your communications

I'd appreciate if you are able to send me again a download link,

Seasons Greetings @Cielspacing, https://we.tl/t-ZnPvye5Oyl The Zip file on WeTransfer contains the unpacked installer files for SFP-15 (build 161) which is the latest update AFAIK. You will still need to activate SFP-15 with your serial code and the paired email address.. If you have trouble with activation, I cannot help you there, moderators do not have access to customer info and activation data, so email Magix as @SP. suggested:
infoservice@magix.net

Cielspacing wrote on 12/22/2023, 12:38 PM

Thank you. Just downloaded it and having applied and double checked all those permissions specified at my previous post (basically my system is wide open to whatever thing goes on the web), I still get a message of connection failure.

These are the steps:
1. Download the zip correctly
2. Uncompressed the zip ok
3. Installed correctly only the SOUND_FORGE_Pro_15.0.0.161_DLV_US_x64_211216_22-12_DB178E58_15_0_0_161.exe
4. Which successfully opens the authorization dialog, after clicking the Soundforge 15 link installed at desktop.
5. I successfully upload the P3 serial, together with my email. The program recognizes both Serial and email as correct and shows a green tick next to both of them (see the pic attached):

6. Upon clicking "Activate and register online immediately", the system shows a turning-processing icon for several seconds, to then show the window of connection failure:

7. Have in mind that the moment I acquired the SF15 Pro license, after seeing this identical installer behavior, I signed into my Magix account and registered the Serial bought. Since then SF 15 Pro appears as part of may Products submenu, together with a download link (that only retrieves a 6 MB exe, that once installed produces nothing except a sign with the options "Abort, Retry, Ignore" of which only Abort produces visible results).

8. Today, Samplitude X6 Suite opened without showing the registration failure it was showing until hours ago (yesterday night late here). So a little cause for celebration from my part and the guess that either two things might be happening here:
- First, or Magix has relaxed today a license blockade that was stopping my Samplitude ... Note that the authorization dialog that required going online did not! even appeared today. It is not that it appeared and I successfully went through it and the online process completed. None of this; Samplitude opened today just like nothing ever happened stopping its work!
- Or secondly, one of the permissions I applied yesterday actually worked and the under the hood authorization process completed itself Ok... Which is an option to dread for, since this would mean that in order to be sure I may act with my professional tools, I will need to restrict the usage of my very expensive laptop.
However, I travel, work online and participate in many communal actions, plus do frequent and long visits. Then consider that nowadays Microsoft W10 or W11 doesn't even allow me to have a double partition with two installs in a single laptop. I tried andit has already twice! in one case several months after install and with no notice reset and erased my access to the second one installed. This with two personally owned legitimate Windows OSs installed in parallel...

What a dilemma! I really hope Magix is able to provide me ways to activate the P2 license I already own and in the case of Sound Forge 15, and this could be of help to the OP or to anyone interested in the download and install of SF15, I am able to obtain and install a working P2 license for it, that supposedly prevents these issues.

@Cielspacing Just an idea, have you tried downloading and unlocking your software via a VPN?

Alternatively, you can open a hotspot on your smartphone and connect your computer via WiFi or use tethering via cable. If you use tethering Windows should automatically install it as a new network connection. Then temporarily disable your standard internet connection on your computer or switch to the mobile hotspot. Enable mobile data on your phone and try again to unlock the software. Be aware, depending on your phone provider, a hotspot or tethering might cost extra money.

with a download link (that only retrieves a 6 MB exe,

The small 'Download Manager' file (soundforgepro15_dlm_ku3zs9.exe) does not contain the actual installer files, which are (or should be) downloaded when selected and subsequently starts the installer(s). The unpacked installers are downloaded to 'Documents> MAGIX> Installationmanager' folder. These files can be deleted after the product has been successfully installed.. If the user so desires.
Unfortunately there has been reports of problems with the download manager. Having the unpacked installer files eliminates most of those issues. Activation is a separate procedure.

This reads as though you are wanting to activate SF 15 with a P2 serial number - is this what you mean or are you referring to another un-named older product?

If an older product, P2 numbers were discontinued sometime in 2014, is it listed in your My Products with a download option and serial number available?

Interesting ideas. Upon reading this I tried to use W10 Pro's own VPN, however couldn't make it work after a couple of attempts and simply it is not that time of the year to insist.
Then your mention of hotspot, brought to mind that I have been using my phone's internet via USB cable as you described for the last... 2 months, and only a few days ago connected to the wi-fi available in this place.
I'll do some further testing when possible.

Yes, these small download manager files are precisely what prevent me from downloading the install file exes directly from My Products section at my Magix account. When initiated each and all of then only show me a small window with the three options "Abort, Retry, Ignore", only the Abort choice produces results at my end...

Good to hear (not really) that I am not the only one experiencing problems with that small downloader file. It definitely should have workable options, at least to send reports or to log them. As it is, failures get unnoticed by the mothership's website (Magix) and depend on this kind of feedback, which is far, far from ideal.

Hi
I do have a P2 license for Samplitude Pro X6 Suite for sure and of VEGAS 19 if I remember well.
These were requested to support about a couple of years ago, when similar issues were described at Samplitude forum. Since my software usage requires frequent travel and even performances at remote off-line locations (Nature, Festivals, off grid communities, etc) I joined those who requested them by email. My P2 licenses appear at my Magix account, My Products section. However, since I had been thru large changes, including a long due high performance Laptop replacement, changing residence (three times in three years) plus all the professional shifts these 20s decade brought to us... I haven't actually activated those P2 licenses. And now I can't even locate or download its installers (as my recent posts describe in detail),

I understand the Magix changes as well. Its new marketing head, team and strategic renewal was in the news for all to see. However, I wouldn't expect such ingrained and relevant functionality as the P2 licenses would need to be modified without considering their impact. Allow me to just say that this is neither the time or place question or elaborate on that. I am just answering the questions you put forward about my licenses.

And about SF15... Yes! I do modifications to tracks I play, even minutes before performances at the wildest locations. Thus, a secure, not ET-phone-home crying software is essential for my professional utilization of this tool.

You might be onto something with this.
Just minutes ago I went to open Samplitude X Pro and surprise it showed me the registration dialogue (it had been working Ok for a couple? of weeks).
I remembered your advice and connected the laptop I am working in, with my celular hotspot via USB cable, because I am staying at my mother's house for Xmas and using her wifi,
Voliá, Samplitude started right away, with no registration hassles.

Immediately went to check about if something had also changed with Sound Forge 15 Pro interrupted registration, but after the initial "Welcome!, activate with Serial Number" window, and filling it with the correct Serial and Email, it results in:

The same "failure to connect",etc. window, that it has been appearing again and again...
As a matter of fact, no single time any attempt to actually open Sound Forge 15 Pro in my PC, it has been able to complete its activation from there, despite it fastly marks with green positive ticks my entered Serial and Email...

I am starting to think on the possibility that this Serial might be wrong, but then why the appearing windows shows the message "failure to connect" instead? And why SF15 fails to connect at the same PC, utilizing the same net, antivirus disabled and all the rest identical configuration, when another Magix software installed on the same OS, effectively connects through with no issues??
I wonder.
