I have a Mic and mixer setup

Using Magix Music Maker 16, when i record an audio track it  causes alot of distortion and feed back.
Sounds like what im recording plus the tracks behind it.

How do I prevent other audio tracks from recording onto a new track?

How do i get rid of the distortion?

i read something about 'what you hear' and couldnt figure it out how to turn that off if some one could elaborate on that subject maybe it too will help

H there,

perhaps you have the settings for your soundcard recordings set to stereo mix. This means that the first track will record correctly, BUT, a second recording will pick up what is being played on the first track. Hence the 'blurring' as you described it. Make sure that you are using the mic in, if using a mic, and have set the recording controls to mic in, and NOT stereo mix. (Or set tot the other input source)

Make sure that when you monitor the sound when recording additional tracks, you do so via headphones and not speakers. Also check and download the latest driver for your soundcard

Those are only generalities to check, but it may do it for you.

Cheers,
