sound card

I recently purchased the Music Maker . Ever since I installed this I get the above message, as well as a message saying;

The sample rate 44100Hz could not be set . 'Your sound card is possible synchronized to an external source'

I'm quite new to this software so I would appreciate a simple and easy response that could help me fix all of this.

Hi @walkirijan and welcome to the Sound Forge group.

Another application has 'control' of your sound card, You will need to I.D. the offender and exit that application. Look in the Windows Task Manager for applications and/or running services that have audio. The app may also be set to start automatically when the PC is booted, so that particular app's Start up setting should be changed as well.. or the same thing will happen later on.

I went in task Manager, but i am not sure where i need to go now ?
