Sony Movie studio platinum 13 what is this? why am I here?

I have no idea what's going on here, hoping I can get some answers.
Went to use my copy of Sony movie studio platinum 13 today, (had it since 2015)

Only just got it to work, but the whole thing won't run properly. its laggy and seems to be constantly trying to load,
the video preview is fucked and refuses to work at all.
I try doing a clean install of the program and it brings me to this site, when i try putting my serial number in it won't let me as the Sony one I got originally contains letters?

so now i think it needs and update but when I try to find an update page or such like I'm being redirected to this joke of a company? which seems like it's run by russian hackers?
What's happened to my program? I spend £70 on a program that's basically useless.
and when i click on find an update it brings me here and there are no updates?

How do i get my program back, i've still got all the paperwork as to when i bought the program from sony, but they don't care an send me here!?

Hi, welcome to the Magix forums.

First, please moderate your language when posting to what is a public forum, owned by Magix.info and most certainly NOT run by Russian hackers!

Second, Sony sold all the Vegas/Movie Studio product line to Magix in, I think, 2015/16; hence you have been "directed" here. However, the dedicated forum for Sony Movie Studio is here.

Third, the problem of your serial number might be resolved if you read this thread.

Today is 09-27-2021. I also have Movie Studio Platinum 13. I've had and used it for many years. Now it is saying I need to update it.

I have been unable to locate any update/s on the Magix site/s. I have noticed that several of the Movie/Vegas Studio programs have problems also. I don't feel comfortable enough after reading the forums on the products to invest in another one of them.

Can the company fix this problem with the 13 version or not?

Please read my earlier reply to @ty-duggan. This is NOT the forum for versions of Movie Studio earlier than 18 nor for any version of Vegas Pro.

Please follow the link in that same post to the dedicated Vegas forum.
