My computer had to be wiped clean. I reinstalled the program and cannot register my product without an activation code that I got from Sonic Foundry or Sony, it's been so long. I'm a DJ for a radio station and I produce in Atlanta. Can you help me get my whole product back? I cannot save any of my work. Sonic Foundry Sound Forge 6.0e

The Magix support provided me with a registration and activation code for my Sound Forge 6.0E, but after a week of back and forth emails Magix support tells me they cannot support older products and I need to purchase a new updated version. Why was I provided an activation code and lead to believe Magix support would help me re-activate my Sony product? What is the real story about Magix support of Sound Forge 6? Is it supported or not? Is the Magix support an automated response system (as the email responses appear inhuman)? I hope someone can help with re-activation of my product.

Hi

. . . . What is the real story about Magix support of Sound Forge 6? Is it supported or not? . . . .

What Magix mean is that there are no more bug fixes, patches or technical support for issues with the program.

The last supported operating system was Windows XP, so there is no guarantee it will work on later versions of Windows.

If you are on Windows 10 then it is highly likely that the registration/activation will fail, the OS is very different from earlier versions, and has rendered a lot of old software unusable.

'djbrothero' should look for a copy of SF Pro 10, (which I prefer to SF Pro 11 (IMO, SCS really messed up the 'Record' and 'Plug-in chainer' UI) SF-6 is very much like SF-10 and supports VST plug-ins w/o a wrapper. FWIW, SF Pro-10 installed, registered, and works well on my Win 10 laptop. The only problem was, after a Win 10 OS update, the 'elevated privileges' issue needed the registry tweak, but of course this happens with SF Pro 11 as well.

As an experiment, I recently installed SF 4.5 on a Vista machine and it seemed to work fine. Of course the registration is within the software and quite different. I may try to install SF-6 when I have some time.
