SF12 PRO crashes

hereigo wrote on 4/10/2018, 5:29 AM

Hi!

I downloaded and installed trial version of SF12PRO.

I've noticed mainly two things:

1st - I must double click to shortcut icon few times before SF12 PRO starts to load (Win 10 PRO latest update version) and in most cases it finishes as an application crash - with info: BAD_MODULE

2nd - It is impossible to attach Merging Ravenna ASIO driver - any trial to select this driver crashes SF12 PRO.

So - it is not very useful in this case for me - I'm using Merging hardware in my studio...

Do you have any ideas how to solve these issues?

Regards!

Mariusz

Likely something to do with the Merging hardware. I don't recall reading reports of driver issues from fellow beta testers. Otherwise SF Pro 12 opens extremely fast, under 2 sec. from .exe shortcut. Maybe SFP 12 project manager Tom W will look into this.

For sure not with Merging hardware... all other audio software attaching Ravenna ASIO drivers with no problems.

There must be something else going on with your system. First off, why are you clicking several times on SF Pro to load it? Perhaps it has already begun the loading process and then by repeatedly clicking on it that could be what's causing the error?
Also the trial version might  take a little longer to load. I'm not sure.

I've been using Sound Forge Pro  quite extensively and never had a problem. Infact this is one of the most stable releases IMHO. It's extremely fast, not only at start up, but with applying effects, opening and saving files, etc. I haven't had a single crash yet. s

In English - bad module info has stopped working, with no other information..

You may say that Merging hardware is not OK, Win10 is not ok, and so on... but in this case - why all other audio software working properly? With no such errors and any other errors... I mean WaveLab, Marging Pyramix, Adobe Audition, Izotope RX - it's the name just a few...

The problem is FOR SURE on SF12PRO side... I'm very sad, I have had good experience with version 10 and 11 but I don't use them anymore - they are 32bit and make lots of trouble for me...

With best regards

Mariusz

I am having similar issues. Click once. Problem Report opens on I/O Manager. Ignoring the crash will allow it to progress to "Initializing Direct X plugins where it will hang forever. Reinstalled numerous times. Removed plugins reported bad by event viewer. Still No Go. Have this DllHost (5660,G,0) The beta feature EseDiskFlushConsistency is enabled in ESENT due to the beta site mode settings 0x800000. now everytime I try to open and followed recommendations on getting rid of it. Still no launch.

Solved My issue - removed all but the wavplug from the "FileIO Plug-Ins" folder and placed them in a backup folder. SFP 12 launched. Replaced them one at a time testing launch in between, I successfully re added all of the original plugins back where they were supposed to be and now all is well.

No sounds with my Echo Audiofire ASIO driver as well, sometimes SF 12 even can't boot up. But sounds alright in my Cakewalk softwares and Foobar2000 with the same Echo Audiofire ASIO driver in Windows 10.......

@wireless112

Your issue was also my issue... thanks for your work! How did you come up with the idea of looking at the FileIO Plug-Ins folder? Thanks again!
